Remove or IMPROVE player reporting function

Please remove or improve the player reporting function. It makes no sense and it can be abused. Too many matches playing currently where nobody talks to eachother anymore, because everybody is either chatbanned, permanently chatbanned, or just scared to say anything because of possible reporting.

It makes sense. People who truly misbehaves in one way or another will on average get way more reports than regular players. The question is how efficient the rest of the system is...

It does NOT makes sense. I can report anyone randomly. For nothing. Go figure.

With thousands of reports daily, you really think anyone reads them? A programm just gives you punishment.

How would you know people are not writing because they are chatbanned? You are jumping to conclusions. They likely are just too lazy to communicate, since they don't understand the team aspect of the game.

I would rather it be removed. You ask a question in chat and no one answers......  Obviously some players do not know english, but still.

 

So what if someone says f*** or cr*p or something like that, grow a thicker skin. There is also blacklist available for special people.

 

With the last directive missions for Odin, get 55 kills and do damage with x class (which I dislike), i suspect a lot of people will vent in chat, which may lead to chat bans.

The only thing which does something, is reporting someone for misbehaviour in chat. And that only works, if the person said something (which also includes stuff like "High caliber" which gets announced in chat). And you need a couple of people to trigger that. But there are probably some people running around, just reporting you regardless of what you say.

And those are only 24h bans. If you insult others, expect to get 3, 7 days or even months of chatban.

 

Everything else probably wont do anything. Just to make people "feel better" when they are salty. I mean, ive been reported so often despite carrying, so i just assume its salty enemies.

Ive had a guy here in forums (which i had in game a few days before on MY TEAM) confessing to reporting me, because i said "XDDDD LOL" <-- yes, that actually happened.

Which happens. Now I play reasonably much and occationally I get reported randomly. At most I've gotten like 10 reports in a full day with several games. Annoying but not relevant. The only times I ever got punished since the system was introduced was with reason for getting way too irritated in chat and saying things that were not needed. Btw I tend to use chat a lot and never got unfairly chatbanned.

 

Lets say someone sits AFK or just does nothing for 20 battles in one day. This person probably will receive a way higher amount of reports that day. Hopefully there is a job scanning and flags the players who gets an "unusual" amounts of reports, and hopefully they are checked manually action is taken against those if needed.

 

Clearly this is not perfect at all but at least it can remove the worst offenders. (again IF it works as described above)

Exactly my point. I can report ANYONE randomly, for NOTHING. And this function has to go.

You should not speculate based on personal experience.

Most players are not chat banned.

Honestly not got an issue with you, but please take a look at the most recent pages of this forum, constant whining threads about chatbans with the same myths and arguements in them.

 

People having to repeat the same lines over and over again in response, the info on how the system works should be in an FAQ about it or in a sticky topic.

Not chatbanned, but I don't say anything in chat because then I would be banned.....

 

Either your team mates have a clue and so don't need telling or

i hope you not talking about tier 1-5 because there allot bots in this days. or even not try talk with coop enemy's, usually beginners todo that and they have no idea that they are bots

I like the current system.

Seeing new threads/salt mines pop up on the forums on a weekly basis (usually by CV players) because the OP has been chatbanned makes me lol.

Like I said above, personally I chat almost every game, if nothing else to say gg. If someone asks anything I answer if possible.

My guess is that people mostly either don't speak english or just don't care to answer/engage in conversation. The majority probably isn't even aware they can be chatbanned :P

 

Half the time I'm engaged in a chat with 2-3 other players, there tends to be someone who pops up with: "stop the chat spam and play!"

Reporting Someone reduces his Karma Points while Complimenting him increases his Karma Points.

You can´t have negative Karma.

Karma Points allow you to Compliment and Report Others.

0-19 Points- 7 Compliments and 7 Reports 

20-49 Points- 8 Compliments and 8 Reports 

50-79 Points- 9 Compliments and 9 Reports 

80-109 Points- 10 Compliments and 10 Reports 

110 Points or more- 11 Compliments and 11 Reports 

If you think Someone Needs to be banned, than you Need to send a Screenshoot to WG.

Because they have to review it first before they can Ban someone

And others just turned off chat for good reasons. Point is: chat contains 90% nonsense and insults and only 10% helpful comunication - no need to bother about that 10% if the 90% gives you a negative gaming experience. Besides that almost everything can be said by clicking minimap and function keys messages. And it comes with benefit of beeing in client language so more should understand it.

EDIT: I'm talking about random. It's a different thing in ranked. Anything clan and division related stuff is most likely using a voice chat system anyways.
