No, some other ships need nerfs. Montana should be the baseline of what other BBs should be.

This, some people forget that Montana is not "weak" but simply not too strong, shes in a perfect balance. Weakness, and strengths.

Hello,

The montana is one of the most solid ships in the game, yes she has weaknesses which are more obvious than some other ships but if you've mastered the basics of the game those weaknesses should not be a significant problem. I would think her statistics take slightly larger jumps than some other ships as the skill-level increases.

Stats over the last 28 days of all players:

TXBB_Stats.thumb.png.32c0072c7eb69a2e5bfbc90153feecbd.png

Stats over the last 28 days of above-average+ players (Set at 1400 PR):

985024510_TXBB_Stats_AV.thumb.png.e3150f5366233b640b2feda84ad149ed.png

You can see here that her WR actually increased by a larger percentage to every other comparable ship. I am not counting ships like Ohio, Bourgogne because they very likely are largely in the hands of experienced players and Shikishima because it is a new ship and also is likely to be in the hands of an experienced player.

Montana WR increased by 10.8%

Conqueror 9.4%

G.Kurfurst by 9.0%

Thunderer by 8.4%

Republique by 7.8%

Kremlin by 7.4%

Yamato by 7.1%

I've not done the numbers, but looking at them for experience Montana also takes some larger strides than some other ships. The same appears to go for damage. So judging from these rudimentary statistics and my own personal experience from playing the game for almost 5 years, I would conclude in short words that while yes she is less forgiving and takes more experience to get the best out of her the fact is her potential is there if you are firmly aware of the basics of the game.

I'm sorry if I've missed anything out or my reasoning/train of thought is under criticism but I've tried to keep it relatively simple and it is 5:30 in the morning for me.

Regards,

                A tired Minia.

Montana is still good and now with the improved heal, you just ignore fires.

Clearly Montana should be buffed in several areas! The best thread I've seen in ages. Maybe some more AA and range like back when it was useful? Bit faster ruddershift and turning circle would be amazing. A few lousy millimeters more on the bow and deck plating wouldn't hurt either!

I'm of course speaking for all the newbies who actually try a BB that can be punished easily if one is careless, not for myself! (also do not check my stats)

Sure, you drive by and fire your salvo at about 500m distance when having full broadside, the entire ship evaporates. Works perfectly on Montana and Yamato. Those turtleback ones are more unreliable.

Buff plz!

Because the gun caliber is lower than other ships, the bullet speed is very slow, the gun penetration rate is low, and the armored is not that strong.

1. Same as GK (420 GK makes no difference), or even bigger as Bourgogne

2. True

3. Better than GKs

4. Better than French/RN BB armor. Montana atleast has a chance to bounce Yamato shells f.e, and can shatter CL HE on the midsection.

I don't think Monty needs buffs but it certainly has lost its edge in competitive and is now fairly mediocre in randoms.

Exactly, but nowadays "mediocre" just doesnt cut it for many ppl and that's how power creep happens. If anything, id bring her rudder shift below 20s because no ship deserves that kind of punishment.

TBH I wouldn't mind a rudder buff.
