In my case, it is quite often thanks to this furry little nuisance...

I have two of those, but my main reason for poatoing is when teammates do stupid stuff.

Like when I am in CV, they want me to spot and kill DDs, but they never help.

And then some BBs go to map border and cry "need spotting". Such stuff.

Or when I am in a BB you cover two cruisers, they both turn and run.

Same when in a cruiser you cover the DD he smokes up and dies.

I always go whistle this song, and the I potato on...

As it is written, Non Cogito, ergo sum Solanum tuberosum.

That really should be my motto...

(When I gave that to Google to translate, they originally gave me the name for a pepper for some reason.)

In all honesty. Over-committing.

Either I get sucked in by team mates going forward only for them to turn back the moment the first salvo arrives or simply me pushing a bit too far forward. Occasionally and a lot less now than last year, showing broad side at the wrong moment.

I need a reason:Smile_teethhappy:

No seriously, everyday is..

Potatoes Gonna Potate! Free Potato Day eCards, Greeting Cards ...

Nah, in all honesty getting greedy is my potato causing curse.

It tends to go something like this:

Me - just... one... more... torpedo run... on fat stationary BB (ignores DD creeping closer)

DD - "HA HA, Torpedo Surprise Criminal CV scum"

Me " Oh noes"

DD - "You violated the law by bringing that foul CV in here"

Me - Glub, glub, glub (sad sound of CV rolling over and activating emergency Submarine mode)

Playing Azur Lane simultaneously with WoWS. Today I found myself cruising broadside against an Amagi in Izmail at 8 km distance. Just stared, smiled and embraced the delete.

Mostly not checking to see that my entire team has decided to head in the other direction, or are still in the spawn, or are behind an island humping or pretty much anything but sailing towards a cap.

Also checking emails.

Watching netflix.

Greed.

Greedy for that extra 10k dmg or that extra kill.

Staying in smoke when I know there are torpedoes on their way because an enemy DD had been spotted or staying on a flank for too long because instead of realising I am outnumbered I just figure that there's a lot of damage and kills I can get since I am not competing with anyone.

Stuff like that.

I didn‘t bother learning armor schemes and pen mechanics. I have no clue how overpenning works and I am overcommitting too offen because I simply want pewpew in my lazy times.

Aside from doing dumb mistakes now and then, I tend to go for the fun, high risk-high reward plays, especially if I'm a bit bored, and some ships bore me more. Pushing caps with Yama is usually a bad idea and I know it, but still...

Family life, a lot of distractions :)

In game - overextending, not watching mini map, fed up with team - name it. 100 and 1 reasons. The worst is this little devil sitting on my shoulder and whispering 'go on, you can move a bit closer' when I KNOW it is not a good idea and I will get punished. And I do it every time anyway :D

Getting the bright idea that the cap is somehow overlooked by the enemy and trying to get a fast early cap!😀

Usually it's because of Whiskey but also could be:

Playing as a DD in a Cruiser (no DDs on team),

Chasing a DD in a BB,

Finding half (or more) of the Red team whilst my team 'bravely advance to the rear',

Trying new stuff or ships (I have a whole load of CVs I've never played...)

Actually understanding that caps are important whilst rest of team camps....
