Hello - Would you be interested in translating to Greek?  There seems to be a lot of Greek players and my partner is a Greek/English teacher and does Greek/English translations on the side and would no doubt be glad to help out with this.

So what are the 13 languages you said ? When I choose Turkish language, it still remains in English.

In Europe there is no Mexican Spanish, the translation might seem the same to inexperienced ears ... but it is not.

If you take the test and select the SPANISH language, translate it into English. (same to video gif) but to the Mexican Spanish of Europe if you do the translation.

Because they don't squeeze enough money out of those countries, so its a third class service for you, we all get second class service :)

Yep...and after matchmaking we will get one team speaking in 13 different languages

It's all about money dude, nothing more, countries with a low number of players are low on the list to have their language translated, its a cost thing, i run my own business and i certainly wouldn't have all my articles and advertising translated into Tiawanese because one day i have a business transaction with a couple of people from that country. It's simply not cost effective. Secondly the countries mentioned i suspect most of them speak English as a second language. As do 60% of the countries world wide. Fact is WG will only translate into languages where it is making big money.

 

Sadly the short answer is "Don't hold your breath". Translation just won't happen for many countries as you simply don't provide enough financial incentive for WG to bother.

And when will you start publishing ingame screenshots in Latin from tested features ? You know ... the articles about PTS and patch notes ... and upcoming features ... yes we understand your native language is Russian, but you are presenting this to a Latin reading audience ...

I suggest you read about the game mechanics. All Greek to me at least.

Sorry for being late to this thread, please always feel free to ping us.

 

Unfortunately the reality is that we can indeed only translate the articles into languages with a large enough amount of players, where we also have appropriate staff.

 

I appreciate the offer to help with translations, but due to how tight our schedules and deadlines are, I would not want to ask any volunteer to do this - it is a lot of work.

 

We may be extending to more languages in future, but it is currently not planned.

Unfortunately we don't have enough Greek players right now to warrant that investment.

Unfortunately those screenshots are taken from early builds of the game where localizations simply don't exist yet.

Sorry, when i said 'on the side', i didn't mean just for fun - she has done it for official and unofficial documents for friends as well as companies including websites, training material and papers/theses (many thousands of words), it's just not her career at the moment, it's now just evening/weekend work when the demand is high enough.  She's aware of the requirements and the scale of such a task and would certainly commit to such a meaty project like this (she's even got a lot of WoW knowledge due to watching and listening to me :) )

 

Thanks for getting back to us @MrConway and if the opportunity/desire ever comes up to translate to Greek, please let me know how to go about having her apply for the job.

I understand and if we wilol consider Greek localizations I'll try to think of you, just be aware that it is currently not planned.
