I compared the ships and had a close look at Ägir, but compared to Alaska, it seems to be inferior in nearly all aspects. Alaska has more gun range, is more manoeuvrable, has better air defense, and seems to have much better armor too. and it also has RADAR ! what's your opinion? where should my 1 mio XP go? 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Basically she is to powerful, she needs to be hit with a nerf, maybe strip the radar off her and Kron… as it stands now Alaska, she is better than all the other options. Azuma: Yoshino is better, and Azuma doesn't get Alaska's radar. Agir: is too new to have a firm view on (and I don't have her yet), but that means that Alaska is much more likely to get removed first. Friesland: hilarious dakka, but the lack of torps severely limit her utility as a 'classic' DD. FWIW in my capacity as a target, the one that induces most trepidation is certainly Alaska... I'm not sure I'd rate her as overpowered, but she is probably the best all-rounder of the available super cruisers. She's also the one most likely to be removed first. Panocek Players 13,176 posts 13,617 battles Report post #24 Posted June 23, 2020 8 minutes ago, HassenderZerhacker said: I'm kinda sad though, why did they make Alaska so OP then? 27mm bow/stern, same as Agir, can ricochet 380mm guns 36mm deck (unique), can ricochet any AP sent her way citadel ends at waterline, Agir sticks out while Azuma/Yoshino ARE floating citadel on top of not having any reinforced bits, thus she is hardest to erase American Piercing ricochet angles, which goes well with her "cruiser killer" role, but slowest shell velocity and thus penetration, relevant only when interacting with battleship grade armor. The best anti air (not that it stops air attacks), 10km Radar. Gun accuracy is worse than Azuma/Yoshino though.
