Game over Dude. VU is a fantastic little ship with excellent strike potential. She may be a little soft but hey - she is easily one of the prettiest ships in game. Comparing her to an absurdly OP T7 ship which only exists because Stalin kissed the napkin she was drawn up on a snowy day in Siberia is a little unfair. See - one thing I never understood is - Kaiser and VU are pretty much both T4 Dreadnoughts in nature. However one ended up at T3 and one at T5. What does that tell you about low tier balance? Yep - no one gives a flying f. 8 2

Probably WG thought she gonna sell better as T5, since most missions are starting from that tier. Still on my " get-her-one-day " list, because of historical reasons. Maybe WG gonna sell her at half price at the Summer Sale, if there gonna be one again....

I think the VU should come with Ursula as a special captain with every purchase. *looks at current collaborations* Actually scratch that, it could go to weird places.
[G-O-M] Aethervoxx Players 2,597 posts 13,191 battles Report post #9 Posted June 19, 2020 Umm, you spelt the ships name wrong in your haste to object to your purchase OP. I bought the VU simply to have an Austro- Hungarian flagged ship - I also have the Tatra with the A-H flag, as well. Sure, the VU is slow (use SM flag) & you have to watch carefully what is within range but it can still be 'captained' effectively. &, finally, OP, no one put a gun to your head & said "Buy it or else!" . In fact, it would be a mediocre tier 4... all said. Love BBs, purchased A LOT of premiums, and VU is one of the few I regret... deeply. Armor is completely useless, speed low... for a BB. And guns only decent, NOT good. Glass cannons need agility, this doesn't have. If I could get my money back I would ask. Really bad as a BB. (Well... I love french and german BBs so this thing doesn't exactly fit my playstyle)

I dont really agree here VU has great guns for a T5 BB BUT the problem is aformentioned one - you have no way to effectively mitigate the incomung counter strike and CVs just seal the deal... [HPF] Ocsimano18 Players 3,476 posts 13,949 battles Report post #15 Posted June 19, 2020 I think the OP was trolling/joking after the recent "money back for the Massachusetts" post. The VU is a cult ship. It's weak but likable. It's for expert players looking for distraction, or for anybody who likes funky little ships. Also it's a collector piece for central Europeans. Why is it at tier 5? To allow you to do the dailies and other missions.

Would like to play it more, actually, but most of the stuff I seem to do requires tiers 8/9-10. The meta seems better, overall, on mid tiers.

The guns are excellent and I think that WG buff his dispersion/sigma two or three months ago. Now VU is one of the BBs that I feel more accurate.

_HomTanks_ Players 3,368 posts 37,429 battles Report post #24 Posted June 20, 2020 VU is not a soft ship. As a matter fact, it is hard as rock like Lenin or Kremlin when bowed in and can withstand immense amount of damage that way. Broad side is weak like every other ship in the game and in comparison to GC, VU has literally no AA which makes it extra difficult to play in tier 5-6 (even tier 4 planes can drop on it) but VU guns sink GC unless GC uses its better speed advantage. Two things are bad with VU; 1- Not even having banana shooting AA guns, 2- Bicycle speed. There isn't a third thing.
