What Causes Raptor To Get Stuck Behind An Island?

Not too uncommon a scene is the above screenshot but I've never actually witnessed the why? Is it because some moron with an equally big ship such as a BB or auto-pilot CV literally pushes the Raptor off course or does the Raptor just go full autism all by itself lol?

What you said, and dodging torps. Due to the implementation of this 3 ways possible exit point, the AI can't handle or pathfind the new routes as the appearance of the enemy waves is random-like and erratic. If the team don't go ahead of the CV and 'open' way or escort as it should, but hide behind it in the green bubble, the first ship the AI bots see is the Raptor. A dodge by the endangered CV at the wrong time can send it on a rock and the AI is notoriously bad at handling it. Keep in mind the Raptor must stop at prearranged 'pitstops' that are timed. IF the opportunity is lost (cuz it is stuck on rock) the scenario moves on to next phase (the support ships continue towards target) but the Raptor just stays there even if someone manages to unstuck it and push it towards target (I've done it) , it is a fix in the algorithm that needs to be looked at but they can't do it, as no time was left after all available resources were expended on nerfing the cred and xp gains :)

I believe it's the AI auto pilot attempting to avoid a perceived collision with another ship by overreacting and crashing into the island in its efforts to evade.

Once on the Island the Raptor will refuse to reverse which prevents the AI from un-beaching her. I'm not 100% positive but I believe the way point system occasionally might break too when this happens as I have seen the Raptor meander aimlessly once pushed off the island or re-beach herself immediately by turning back onto the island.

Can also be caused by Torpedoes passing close to the Raptor (or any ship on auto pilot for that matter)

This is why I NEVER go near the Raptor in my CV when I can help it while close to an Island. It's just far too risky that someone will end up beached (either the Raptor or me). For the starting islands I plot a course south of the bottom island the raptor is broke down near and set my speed to 3/4 so that everyone else will be ahead of me (as I have had too many instances of tunnel vision BB's sniping the first group of enemy ships and not watching where they are going, smashing into my Carrier and pushing my CV off course and into the Raptor's Islands - [Or just getting butt hurt in chat that my CV is blocking their way and demanding I move] )

anyway if something happens like that, you can always push them self for go away at stuck , done that couple off times.

also you can push them behind for drive faster.

or block them if they run away at heal.

That's the fix right there; the problem is, they only applied it to Narai and haven't gotten around to Raptor yet :Smile_trollface:

You know, I kinda think the Raptor is doing it on purpose.

That she just decides to moonlight as a full air field sometimes rather than a CV by beaching on an island.

She wants to prove that she too can be a project Habbakuk but with a 100% less Iceberg and 100% more Island.

You know what would be a easy fix for this mission and would allow the Raptor to live out her Aerodrome dreams?

If the mission ended in victory when the players killed off all hostile ships that spawn. I mean does it reaaaaaaaalllllly matter if the Raptor gets to the exit when every last hostile in 40km of her is currently pulling double time as a man made reef?

I'll accept an Enterprise as payment for solving you Raptor issue WarGaming, thanks :Smile_trollface:

It's not only Raptor. Even escort ships do that stupid thing.

Get stuck behind rocks? I've said it before, the WeeGee AI is military grade and has specific algorithms giving it potential to learn from random battles and human players. It is merely mimicking human behaviour to perfection! :Smile_trollface:

This is actually a very good idea, make it OR mission like in Narai  - Raptor exits OR all bots killed

Most time it's because other genius players block or ram her.

That somehow messes up the autopilot.

haven't played in 2 days what did I miss ? :)

-The Raptor becoming an aerodrome.

-Sir_Sinksalot exposing the seedy underbelly of CV auto pilot game play.

-WarGaming failing at life.

-Everyone kill stealing my kills :(

-My utter hatred of the WarHammer 40k collab sink 30 ships loot boxes.

-The Raptor going to the beach in a bikini for her OAD beach episode (so lewd) and refusing to get back to the plot.

-Every single human being in the multiverse agreeing that WarGaming should improve Ops.

-The discovery that we have nothing to fear from WarGamings AI becoming Skynet as it will simply crash into all house hold furniture like a evil Rumba gone wrong.

-More WarGaming failings.

-Did I mention the kill stealing?

-New episode of when support ships go wild.

Think that sums it up.
