Tier 8 Battleships available in-game for Doubloons right now, via the armory:

Roma 13,400

Kii 13,200

Gascogne 12,700

Lenin 11,300

Vanguard 13,300

Massachusetts 13,050

Tirpitz 12,800

Alabama 12,500

Even if you add on an extra 1,500 for a 10-point captain (those ships above only get a 3-point captain) these prices are still less than half that of the 'undiscounted' Odin. So claiming we can get the ship at a 90% discount for 3,500 doubloons is a deception and, in many EU countries, would probably result in enforcement action against you. Unless, of course, you're trying to tell us that the fancy camo with all the pretty flags is worth 20,000 doubloons?

It won't trigger any law actions. It's not forbidden to set the price in indirect way e.g. by saying "This new Audi A1 is worth 40k EUR with 50% discount". It's math, not cheating customers.

If you already have flag_Germany_18970d883c7758b53538983bd09premium_1114542bcd311c388080eea3a4d54a7eVI Admiral Graf Spee in your Port, you will receive compensation in the form of credits, as well as the camouflage, Commander, and a Port slot.

So no Doublons. Lesson to learn: Do not buy Tier 6 Premiums!

Sooner or later everyone will have them for free without compensation for the buyers.

The real carrot on the stick here is not the mediocre Odin, but the 4500 steel that people will be able to buy.

Add the never ending CV rework, submarines that will make the gameplay even more stale, desync issues that you will definitely not fix because it actually involves spending money and improving the servers and last but not least, almost every non russian premium being bad or average, and you will lose half your player base by the end of the year.

So sad. I really like this game, the slow paced tactical action (unless there is a CV) and the interesting playstyles you can get with diferent ship classes are what made this game great.

And you're trying your best to kill it.

It's such a pity that health pool nerf on the Odin makes the ship virtually impossible to play, especially when up-tiered.

I will have a ton of fun nuking this ship on the Musashi with 15k salvos despite any attempt to angle.

This is the way the PR event should have been: clear, transparent costs, no fuckery with semantics and language, a beautiful dockyard (the art department at WG will never receive enough praise for what they do) and reasonable time to complete the directives at a leisurely pace.

Congratulations, WG, for not trying to shaft your customers.

I reckon I will enjoy this event, even if in the end I'll spend more than 3.5k doubloons to get a tier 8 BB of dubious value (according to the CCs)

And, as always, kudos to the art department

How to build cruiser Admiral Graf Spee, get a discount on battleship Odin, and gather all the available rewards! Read on for detailed instructions!

Read it on the portal

Nice Explanation of the Entire Event.

I should Correct one Mistake tough.

You got the Description of the Odin Wrong. You talked something about an Excellent Close Range Fighter with Good Main Battery Reload or something.

The Correct Description is. "A Useless Piece of Junk that will Die if someone Farts in its General Direction and whose Guns cant Hurt Enemy BBs or even Heavy Cruisers unless they Show Flat Broadside 10km away."

Oh, and for those who wonder, this is the IRL dock where you'll build Odin

And in the lower left, just not visible, was the Bismarck build. There is still an armor plate of the Bismarck you can see.

Guys,

I understand your concerns about mentioned 90% discount.

In order to finish entire event of building a ship, you need to finish 20 phases, each in a price of 1750 doubloons.

So, in a theoretical scenario, if anyone decide to click one by one to enjoy the animation of stuff being placed on the ship or for any other reason, he would pay the maximum price of 35 000 for 20 phases, that grants you Admiral Graf Spee, Odin and plenty stuff for finishing the phases. So this 35 000 is not a price for Odin, but for everything, that is around.

But I guess, that vast majority of you don't want to spend so many doubloons to get all this. That is why you can grind up to 90% of the phases through Directives, without spending any doubloon yet.

So if you finish all 18 phases from directives, this gives you 90% discount to finish the entire event of building a ship. Only then you need to spend 3500 doubloons to get last two phases, that gives you 10k coal and Odin.

We also wanted to clearly show, that there is no option, to get the final ship for free (lesson learned) and grinding directives gives you discount to finish the entire thing and collect two premium ships and plenty other cosmetics.

Directive 6 Task 11:

Battle type: Random, Ranked
Ships: Tier VII-X, Battleship
Conditions:
In a single battle:
Earn 2,600 base XP@

Are they taking the michael here?

Unless you have the Odin already where it's an easier one instead.

And this gem at task 12:

Battle type: Random, Ranked
Ships: Tier VII-X, Destroyer
Conditions:
In a single battle:
Deal 165,000 damage

Tell me, why do they have the Odin as a potential ship to use in these directives / tasks, when that is what we are going to be grinding for in the first place?

We try to have a mix of grindy and skill-based missions, since you don't have to complete all of the tasks, this gives you the choice of what to aim for.

What is your concern ?

165k dmg in a DD ?  C'mon, be serious. There is Shima, Kleber, Daing, Harugumo - all capable of doing it in a couple of tries.

2600 base exp isn't a wonder either. It's just a very good game, +200k dmg and a win. Des Moines, Salem, Smolensk, Thunderer, no problem.

It does not seem like the same Sh!* Show as the PaytoRico everything is there to read as is in rules and what you get for your money. A few niggles for me but that's WG 2020's Uber  Churn Mode, Compensation for premiums in Credits not Dubs, ( It should be in the Currancy used to obtain the item) our local saying for that is Tight :etc_swear:'s.

To pre-nerf a ship with a very vague hint it could maybe be buffed seems to require trust of WG on the players part, Caveat Emptor there then :Smile_sceptic:

Good Luck with getting the Odin if it's what you want Folks Enjoy :Smile_honoring:

PS How much Coal and Steel can you obtain doing the whole Event and does the poor Odin have a Credit/Sale value at the end?????

Sooo....there is that. I purchased Graff a while back and have enjoyed it tremendously.

Yet for all(?) other events/campaigns/etc. WG has compensated in dubloons if you had the particular ship in port already, rather in useless* credits.

This is both disappointing and at the same time not surprising at all. I expect that the spreadsheet is "balansed" and I''m off to Gulag......

*) Yeah its useless: play what 20-30 winning games in a boat you master w. cammo and signals and you're getting the same amount of credits.

I had a go on the test server. The team have been up front this time making it clear what you can achieve and what cant be achieved with or without paying for it. I must admit the last dock yard event was disappointing as it was unclear how much grinding had to be done in short a time frame.  Looking forward to it and to be honest I don't mind paying for the odin if i achieve the full discount.

The missions were posted ealier ( even month ago ) and if they didn't changed them they are really really tamed in comparison to the infamous PR.

I believe when I see them. On the other hand it makes sense since Graf Spee is only T6 so half of the directives should be relatively easy even for new players to obtain.

Holy smokes.. reading through all this I've learnt a few things. People cannot read, people do not understand English and people complain about free stuff.. Because it's not more free stuff.. Jeeze.. I WANT I WANT I WANT.. reminds me of a bunch of kids wailing for candy and complaining that they didn't get what they wanted. IT IS FREE!!!!!!!!! Stop moaning, jeeze. Want it? grind and pay, still way cheaper than any other T8 premium you can get! Now shoo, back and enjoy the game, whining about CV's, jeeze.. you haven't played the game before the rework.. BWAH! Sorry for the bile, I just get a bit miffed by the trolls in here.

I already have the Spee. I'm not going to spend money and grind my butt off for a PAPER ship. There are lots of ships that actually existed W.G. could have used, like the IJN Ise, the IJN Tone, the HMS Repulse, the USS Wichita, I could go on and on, but NOOOOO!!:cap_horn:

Well, as an apparently somewhat above average player, I can tell you those two particular conditions are a problem for the vast majority of the playerbase.

Heck I'm not sure I ever managed 165k DMG in any DD so far...

10k coal Value - 0. Literally nothing. No value.

Imagine someone who gets paid a really bad wage of 7.50 an hour. Multiply that wage by the number of hours it would take them to grind 18 stages. Add onto that the fact the game just isn't ''fun'' to play atm.

What you end up with is an EXTREMELY OVERPRICED yet underpowered Odin (IF you let WG steal your money). A Graf Spee everyone got for free and less effort, 10k! coal (WOW) and a few other terrible rewards with 0 value.

As an ''event''. This is a joke :Smile_sceptic:

That doesn't matter much though, as you will only have to complete 7 out of the 12-13 tasks in each directive.

You forgot to add that those two missions do not reward Dockyard levels. So they can be ignored completely as irrelevant to progress.
