Constant Chatbans because I am playing CV?

Hello there, 

I am a more casual player who does not care very much about winning or losing a game. I have been playing for two years now and I would describe my behaviour in chat "just like everyone else", casual conversation, communicating what I want to do, laughing with teammates or enemies about funny stuff, very rarely complaining. I have been chatbanned once like six months ago, for a day or so, which was totally fine because I crossed a line in chat there during ranked. After that never got chatbanned again, until...

 

...a month ago, where I have started to play Carriers more often. I got Saipan from a Container a while ago and I pretty much enjoyed the experience, which was why I started American CV. Sure Carriers are broken af, but you either die a Battleship or live long enaugh to see yourself become the CV.
Since then, I have noted skyrocketing reports and chatbans. Most people should know by now, that the best way of hurting someone is by reporting them for misbehaviour in chat, and that's exactly what they do. My karma was dropping down hard, and nearly every time I wanted to type something in chat I got chatbanned again, and I could not remember writing anything that was even remotely worthy of a chatban. Most importantly I have not changed my behaviour in chat at all. 

 

I also noticed that the only time I was not chatbanned the last month was when I played Ranked, despite generally more heated up discussions in chat. I did not play a single Carrier Game there.

After I played pretty much exclusively carriers in Randoms yesterday, Saipan + Lex, I got my next chatban (again, 10 days). I have not even written anything toxic, I was just bombing people with my Planes and they apparently got mad. reported me for misbehaviour in chat and there we go, ten days of silence.

 

Is this the new strategy of Anti-CV warfare? I can totally understand the dislike towards the CV game-design, but I don't like being constantly chatbanned again and again because I ruined someones day with planes he can't shoot down. The most annyoing part is that chatbans get longer and longer the more of them you get.

Please post one of your recent replays on which you were still allowed to use the chat so we can judge better on why you might have gotten this chatban. 

 

Usually you can only get chat banned if you break chatrules or etiquette

@TheNale I suggest that if you are certain that you don't deserve a chat ban that you PM Crysantos and ask him to review the logs for you.

 

I could be wrong but I believe that all chat bans beyond either 24 or 48 hours has already been moderated by a human, but I don't know for sure.

Those chat bans longer than 24 hours are manually reviewed so you couldn't get 10 days ban if you didn't use team chat.

 

Yes, there are plebs in this game which like to abuse report button if you don't dance how they singing. We are telling this to WG for more than several years now but changing report system is not their priority and it probably never will be.

And if you see divisions in your game, expect 2 or 3x reports because plebs like to tell their division mates to do reporting as well.

Everytime i got a chatban for 3 or 7 days, i can fully say that its deserved every time.

So you should rethink what you are writing...

You'll get used to the sporadic "you are chatbanned for 24 hours" notification due to "complaints" when you play CVs often along with the insults and sarcasm both on in match chats and DMs.

yes you may get karma reports when you play with CV , some people think who never played with CV that playing CV is easy, that you can support everyone at same time.

 

most harder probably are those battles where are 4 or even more dd.

Why would you ban someones account for using a normal ingame feature? If they don't want people to report others then they should remove this feature from the game, simple as that.

I think youre logic is false. Reporting players for playing the game makes just no sence, and you never know if the person you are reporting might take it serious.

Well, it does if you really dislike a class. If a player takes getting reported seriously, he has no business in online gaming and should stick to hello kitty online at best.

Never been chat banned for playing CV. Only chatban I ever had I deserved. Yet still stand by what I wrote.

Good. I support players reporting others who play the farce reworked CVs. This is one of the few ways to show WF that their CV rework is nothing but a FAIL.

The best way to protest would be to not play any reworked CVs but there are too many dimwits who will play these garbage reworked CVs.

Why are more reworked CVs played? They are EZ mode for the dimwits (& a lot of players dislike them for this very reason).

Note how T4 is swamped with these garbage reworked CVs. It is obvious why this is so - WF made them to be OP.

I want the RTS CVs back (to show my point of view here).

As you can see from some of the responses on this thread, if you do anything that certain players do not like you will get griefed and trolled by them.

 

Unfortunately in game there doesn't seem to be any risk for players abusing the report system so they spam away knowing the only negative impact is going to be on you. The only solution would be to ignore karma and not use chat when playing CV, that way they cant trigger the auto chat ban. If you do use chat then ensure you are always clean as once someone starts reviewing it they could ban you for something said in another match.

 

I dont think I have actually ever had a chat ban but I am constantly expecting one when I've played CV even when I dodnt say anything in the game.
