How to citadel guide?

Just thought I ask if someone knows of a guide of sorts that shows where best to aim to get citadels on most ships. I know where to aim on a broadsiding BB/cruiser and  I know there is a Armour viewer in port where you can look at every armour scheme on every ship but im thinking more those weird "Hail Mary" kinds of citadels that saves the game in the endgame. Lika a Little White Mouse guide to some special places, like for instance the front and back cheek on the Yamato, or the weird divided citadel on the Cleveland, even remember something Flamu said in a vid that shooting below the front turrets on a french cruiser (Henri etc) is usually a guaranteed citadel. Think I remember that Iowa/Missouri has something at front turrets as well at a certain angle?! Maybe a hidden softspot on Moskva or Stalins?

Just thought someone more hardcore then me had done one after 5 years.

What changed everything for me regarding getting consistent citadel is aiming a bit above waterline. That way the Shells that tend to fall short more often than not land in the citadel instead and if not I at least get more Shells to do normal pen damage which is hard hitting too if enough connect

You can aim where ever you like, as long as its in general direction of the enemy, if RNGesus blesses your shells you might get a citadel pretty much from any angle, if not, well, even point blank at mid section will just either completely miss or overpen.

By no means a "specialist" :), but in my experience IJN and some RN cruisers (also some french) seems  to be more sensitive about shells landing closer to their ends, juuust a tad after their midships until last (X or Y) turrets. But indeed RNG play a rather BIG part in the succesfull ( or not) outcome :)

This is a rather difficult question to answer as there are so many variables:

- gun calibre

- ammo type (conq HE on Smol f. e.)

- angle

- distance

- target (citadel) armor layout

- and last but not least: RNG........

Yes, I know, I was just more curious about those more or less known "secret places" like side cheek front and back on Yamato, somthing about second turret on Iowa/Missouri, forward turrets on Henris, back turrets on some DDs that seem devestating, divided citadel of the Cleveland etc etc.

I think there is more then most know, and someone (more hardcore then me) has probably done a list of them.

I know many of these isnt a guaranteed cit but better then most shots.

What I would need would not be a guide where to aim on enemy ships, but how to aim using different type of guns and distances. I admit having severe trouble consistantly citadeling enemy ships while using high arc guns, especially above 12km. Aiming for or above the waterline only gets you so far.

Related to this, how do I citadel Smolensk when I have something like the Bismarck or Roma?
