Despite agreeing on the possibility that you play her wrong, you do not want help and instead blame the ship?

The pinnacle of ignorance!

Both US ships perform completly average btw, there is nothing wrong with them:

https://wows-numbers.com/ship/4075730928,Seattle/

Worst average damage of any Tier IX cruiser in the game, third worst k/d ratio, bottom half of the table on win rate, average XP, frags. (It is quite good at shooting down planes though). This at a tier where there are several ships made of pure explodium....

Stop

  • comparing her with premium ships
  • using K/D ratio
  • using a database comparing entries from different versions of the game

She has the third highest base attack and second highest base defense rating of any silver Tier IX cruiser.

the moment you get spotted, you pop radar and have a DD spotted.

oh yes, just like i recently rushed a smoke, popped the radar - and there was a GK next to the Jutland :fish_boom:

me > port 🙄

But basically that´s how-to US CL´s

Shan't. The point was that Tier IX is not a good place for standard cruisers, and Seattle's stats show it. A ship that people play for the destination, not for the journey.

They show that she is in a decent spot in the middle. When you look at the wrong numbers, it is not surprising that you see something else.

Seattle has catastrophically bad guns IMHO, it's fragile like a flawed eggshell which is why I don't touch the thing.... :Smile-angry:

However... :Smile_glasses:

Some people take the Seattle, park it behind some cushy little rock, suitable close to a cap. From there they make use of those crappy guns to lob off HE spam on enemy ships using the cushy little rock for cover. :Smile_playing:

The radar?

They don't use it like real combat ships do. Instead they start it up when the enemy DD is trying to cap. Profit! :Smile_trollface:

Yes it feels sluggish, yes it is fragile, yes it is hard to play and might be situational. It feels like a downgrade from Cleveland but it is not.

Do not spec it into range, shells are too slow to snipe from afar, spec into gun reload and ifhe + fire chance. You have to fight on your terms, fire from behind islands, go into open water when enemy pushes into you, do not chase enemy ships (your shells are too slow to fire at enemy who is running away), ambush destroyers at close range (you have both, radar and sonar), spam battleships with he but always have an island close by, avoid being shot at by long range cruisers catch them at close range and show them superior american firepower. Avoid open water full of enemy ships, you will die fast.

This ship is a well balanced flamethrower, it does the thing that many ppl complain about but in a least frustrating way, she has to be close to the targets she is engaging

Can someone please tell me why is there a Seattle in the game at T9? - or in the game at all for that matter.

It must have some redeeming features but I have yet to discover them? - please enlighten me.

Its not fast

Its slow firing

No armour to call anything

Damage dealt is pathetic

Its got Radar but if you use it , it means that you'll also soon be spotted as its detection rate is also hopeless, soon as your spotted your a goner.

This is a Windows based game.

Where's Microsoft's head office?

And just like Windows 10, the Seattle isn't very good.

Geddit?

I hated Seattle as well. My primary gripe with her were the firing angles.

For me Bufallo and Seattle are downgrade from very good VIII's, which had smaller sizes/citadels and much better gun placement. To make it somewhat work without too much stress, I took on both range module. At least in that scenario, we don't need to be an unicuum player, to make DMG.

Seattle is a tier9 cruiser of the US light cruiser line.

As all other t9 ships in all of the nations tech trees it is the last step before reaching t10.

Seattle is in the game to fill that spot.

I am sorry that is not correct, seattle was put there to get Baltimore down to T8, and since it would not make sense to suddenly have 203mm Guns on the T10 they put the Worcester there as well...

Damn i though that was obvious.

Would you like to explain this comment please?

Seattle and Cleveland are the T9 & T8 in the USN CL branch. Neither have 203mm (8") guns, both have 152mm (6") guns. Worcester is the 152mm armed T10 top of the tree, with fine auto loading turrets.

Baltimore is 203mm armed T8 CA in the USN Heavy Cruiser line, with Buffalo following at T9, also 203mm armed. The Des Moines is the pinnacle of this line at T10.

Are you looking back to the way it was before line split? Because if so I still don't follow what you are saying.

No one here can really answer that question except for WG.

I mean back when Karlsruhe just came out, I always wondered why such a ship existed in game. The Emerald as well. Those things were so, so, sooooooo bad. And this is coming from a guy who enjoyed playing the furry taco before it was buffed and the tier 7 Pensacola.

Nice. So you are the other one who liked them both too. :Smile_veryhappy:

Seattle may very well be the worst Fxp sink in this game..

After many buffs, I guess Izumo gave the title to her..

Oh memories.. stop..

I need to drink now.. I remembered my seattle grind..

Did you play her as well when the range was still bugged on the B-hull ?

Which didn't make playing a ship with already mediocre handling and health, any more comfortable. ^^
Let alone the blyatiful turret angles. ^^

Well, you did 27k average damage with the Cleveland, and 35k with Seatle. It seems all to be in line of what to be expected.

Srsly, with Cleveland 27k? It's an overhelming satan (with IFHE). You're playing it bad. :p

Still Seattle imo is worse than Cleve to play.

Yeah i can't explain why but even the not so succesful games couldn't dampen the joy with these ships...they just felt good in a strange way. Maybe it was the oomph if someone presented you his broadside once in a while. And Pensa taught me a lot especially because of the awful concealment. This ship really forced me to use the minimap.
