The above section you can find in the file "engine_config.xml" in the game subfolder \res.

I already changed the amount of replays to 3000.

Can be edited with Notepad. Make a safety copy if you are uncertain.

Yeah, it's not like CVs get a helpful little icon that tells them whether they're detected by only planes or ships as well.

 

The average playerbase never ceases to amaze I suppose.

Your smoke lasts around 2 minutes. If under pressure use it to detere the CVs from attacking your for that  time.

My kiev doesn't have smoke fyi. I use heal because of all the radars (minimum 3 every match)

You should reconsider that choice from now on since CVs are pretty popular at the moment. 

Without smoke in a Kiev with horrible air detection range this is bound to repeat itself.

I didn't diverge, I went back on topic right away and showed how the balancing principle you pointed to was irrelevant to what I was arguing, namely that players have a lot of room to improve their play against the "common" CV that they face.

You might not agree to what I'm writing, which is of course fine, but there is no need to use that condescending tone where you apparently use your "superior intellect to unravel my logic".
Other people have went to university too, you know.

I only take CV out to battles when it's purely out of spite, literally.

I usually take them out when I have had enough of the potato-Cvs that I get.

Dive-mates usually do not like a CV. Until they realise they'd better have a "good" one than another... well...

Also it learns them about countermeasures. Not that you can REALLY counter, but you can frustrate a potato CV a bit.

The best advice I can give is, grind the ones that you need (for CB, or something),

then sell all the crud and be happy larking around in T5/6/7. 

 

A ship like Kiev is not the one I'd have on my wishlist... I got T8 DD Silliwangi form a container, guess what.
