Steel in Ranked

Just a quick one.

 

All sources including the in-game description still show Steel as being a reward for Ranked and Clan Battles. The first forum post does admittedly state " race for Credits, Signal and Coal!" and does not sate steel as a reward. 

 

I cannot remember getting steel in particular last season but I didn't get very far. This season so far I am rank 3 and have yet to see any Steel be rewarded.

Is this still the case or is Steel no longer obtainable for us filthy casuals who don't play Clan Battles? How are we supposed to earn steel to unlock ships if you are not actually providing it in a fair manner for all?

Steel is awarded during the proper Ranked Battles, not the Ranked sprints. The "real" Ranked season starts in a few weeks if I'm not mistaken and will contain tier 7 ships (and steel rewards for certain ranks).

Well that answered that query^^

 

I was not aware of there being two different types of Ranked seasons.

In sprints you always get only 10k coal at the end. In proper rank you get steel every rank.

Imho they should give you a bit more coal in sprints and devide it into categories 2k (rank 5), 5k (rank 3) and 10k for rank 1. So 17k in total.
