Yay, the third thread moaning about Narai within 24 hours of it being back on rotation.

 

Let's hope it doesn't end like OP's last moan thread.

I believe WG stated that operations were not popular.  In order to prove this they removed numerous operations because of the 'CV rework'.   One of the iterations of the CV rework messed up the pathfinding (I believe the theory was the improvements to the CV pathfinding caused this).

 

WG can't believe that people still play operations so they take out one of the better operations 'to fix AI pathfinding' to return it still in a broken state but with reduced credit earning.

 

WG want you to stop playing operations to prove that they were right that operations are not popular with the player base.

 

The missing operations have yet to return.

 

P.S. If you continue to play operations YOU will be sent to the Gulag.

There are lots of problems tuning this pathfinding apparently. At some patches, one parameter causes the CVs to get stuck in islands, at another patch this parameter is tuned but another parameter is affected / a problem arises : CVs go backward or do loops. This is a common problem in lots of games, with each one having its specific constrains.

 

One can even consider that Ops are great debugging tools to sort everything out.

Well I guess you can still farm some cash and xp in it maybe comparable to an average random in those tiers (although with more damage dome ofc I am talking final numbers) but hard farming days are over...

Yeah the credit gains in silver ships at least is atrocious, better off just playing randoms. I'm credit locked on 3-4 lines by now, so that's a shame. Still a nice way to stack that first win of the day star with a gazillion modifiers on tier 7's you're leveling.

I play Atlanta exclusively in this mode (now and then) to level her captain. 

 

With the nerf to XP/FXP, I see no reason to use special signals there anymore. 

 

In fact, I stopped using special signals even in randoms. 

 

Exceptions were, using special signals with Orkan, as the 200% boost missions give spicy rewards even for crappy games and while grinding the PAN EU DD line, as the FXP accumulated there allowed me to speed grind the resetted IJN DD line to get Ohio. 

 

But from now on, special signals are exclusively used on ships with 200% missions and ships I know I can do well in under any circumstances and only in randoms. 

 

For instance, I play the ranked sprint without any signals at all. 

First of all, I consider it not worth it, secondly, I use the opportunity to speed up the LM grind on ships i don’t like. 

 

So, Khaba and the TX CVs are currently running without any flags. I can’t say, it’s fun to play them, but I want the LMs.

 

I‘m not gonna waste any special signals on the RN CA line grind. 

I am not in hurry to grind through.

 

And once I drop down to 100 of a signal, i‘ll stop using it at all.
