The Good - Narai is back ! The bad - credits nerf...

So, my favorite Op. is back ! The best and fastest way to level commanders and grind the T7 is again in our reach ! Thanks WG !

Bots are fixed, no more crazy dance around islands,  and a minor change: that Phoenix cruiser escorting the cv now will go all way with the cv if the cv is not killed, so be careful if you go with a dd against. The Phoenix will sail like a shadow near cv, at less than 200-300m, in parallel.

The bad news is you get a lot less credits, is a nerf around 40% I think. Where you use to get 600-700 k in a premium  (like Flint) for a 5 stars and 10-12 kills, now you only get 330-340k.

With camo and lots of flags, see what I got in the picture; ( silver ship with -10% costs AND 20% credits);

Anyway, is still a good thing the devs give us back Narai, so again, thks WG and thks to the devs who worked for. :Smile_medal:

I didn't really like Narai when I first encountered it before it vanished for a while but now that it's back I really like it a lot. The reason I didn't like it much originally is now clear, it was simply down to the ships I was using at the time which was just the two two IJN DD's and nothing else, I had nothing else at tier 7, but now with the Sinops and Shchors(still grinding it's second hull) I must say I am really enjoying it and looking forward to adding to that T7 collection under the guidance of some sound and experienced forum ship advice. :Smile_Default:

Oh and as for the credits nerf. Ya, I can get over it. Obviously it's really nice to bag a lot of credits for the invested time and effort but tbh I'm more happy to have another Ops mission to play, especially at a different tier and the main thing for me is it's interesting, fun, challenging and also a very good outlet for grinding T7 ships along with commander skills or simply just playing some interesting T7 ships you actually want to play and feel like playing, not forced to play other ships just because the meta suits them better for random battles in which those ships would be weaker or more prone to getting slapped hard etc.

In a cruiser like Shchors, always keep an eye on Missou, he can ( and will, if you ignore him ! ) delete you from 18-20 km, like a sniper. Stay at range and use your laser guns,  Shchors is a decent ship in Narai.

But best cruisers to use are Fiji, Helena, Flint, Atlanta - rapid fire, torps, smoke,  heal, are perfect tools to grab many kills. And credits !

Bb.s wise - Sinop is indeed the king, he can bow tank anything, guns with nukes, and will dominate the Op. in decent hands. Ashitaka is also deadly, fast and great guns with great secondaries also. Nagato is bad, the guns acc.got nerfed next to garbage,  the poor ship feels like is using twisted barrels on turrets... Lyon is also great, the bad french acc. is more than compensated by sheer volume ( throw a lot of sh... at wall and some will stick, will say Jingles here :Smile_veryhappy: )...

Ships to avoid ( hard to play in this Op.) - Algerie - glass hull, slow guns, will get hammered by fire and bbs fast. Myoko - better than Algerie, still way to fragil. York is meh, not bad but also not great.

Sinop will get you a constant 200-300k in credits + XP + FXP if used decent.

I think is the best Op., at the moment, when you can constantly win, alone,  even with players less skilled.

Ya I'm actually considering dropping the Shchors it just gets blow away far too easily with that weak armor and "hard to miss" citadel but I'll give it a fair sample size and of course, unlock all its upgrades too which will add some more HP etc.

Sinop and credits... ya what I'll do is show a battle I just had with it and we can formulate a fair opinion on where this credit nerf sits in terms of being fair or a little but too much of a nerf. Now, it's obviously easy to say the credit nerf is too harsh because we would probably all be biased and want lots and lots of credits lol!. But I'll try and be impartial and you guys can add your two cents on if my point is fair or the earnings would be typical T7 etc.

Ok lets take a fast look a the battle and how a break down on those credits. It's a good solid result, 4 stars, nothing amazing, no point showing anything result too strong or too weak for topic sake, just a good solid to average result.

68x7chP.jpg

V12xuCI.jpg

Right, now then. If we take a look at how the credits pan out 1. It's a premium account I just happened to get 24hrs of and 2. I was using NO credit buffs to increase earnings although it did as you can see, feature a -25% reduction to costs I would normally have otherwise had to pay. 3. I was using the improved option of the repair and hp consumables

So what does that mean?

What that means is, under the new credit offering, if I was using a REGULAR ACCOUNT and DIDN'T have a -25% reduction to cost and CONTINUED to use the improved version of repair and health consumables that well, you can see from the screenshot and do the math, I actually would have only made less than 1000 credits, just about broke even. You can see in the screenshot that with a standard account I made 32k but had a cost reduction of -31k in place for that battle so... ya, if I hadn't, it was just about breaking even, making not credits at all really.

Now, do you guys think that's fair or too harsh or normal for T7 sort of battles? To have a pretty solid result, deal decent amounts of damage, kill ships, hit citadels etc, win the battle, have decent base xp and to just only break even? I think for the result and invested time it should probably have still made at least about 50-100k with a standard account without any credit buffs or reductions so I feel credit earnings need to be tweak back to being a little more generous. Not necessarily how it was if that was too much, but just a little bit better. That said, without using 2 improved consumables I guess I probably would have made about 50k credits. Still... kinda seems a bit too harsh and lets not forget, this is T7, a solid result, a win and not higher tiers or a loss.

F2p silver ships basically earn zero with a 5 star game and 250k damage. Still, lots of fun and XP ...and there's nothing to spend credits on anyway, speed flags aside :cap_like:

Wish they would do operations where you have to pay credits to play and gain more free xp or whatever in return. I got so much credits i have no idea what to do with it.

Transfer a dozen millions in my account :p :Smile_trollface:.... After I reset 5 lines and grind back them up to T7  3 of them and up to T10 two, and bought back those 2 T10, I am in a deep hole with my credits ...

They want people to play random battles, that's been clear for a while. But to hell with that! Still makes credits and plenty of XP for levelling in a low-stress environment.

I can only go on what others have posted as I've not played Narai for a while now (it was one of the operations that I did play in randoms though).  Maybe they were just unlucky.

Nah, rectum random battles are great fun, I play them all the time and who wouldn't when there's so much fun and rewarding gameplay to be had that totally offsets that tiny little amount of stress and imbalance.

Glad to see my fave operation/scenario back, always do it in shiny, first time back and got 12 kills, shark among sheep, and 2 other awards, second time in Surrey and got 6 kills, seems to be easier, although muppets still playing, while playing Surrey a friendly, or should that be an unfriendly Shiny torped me and then a few minutes later shot at me, both occasions deliberate (no enemy around), the things people do when they're upset, I killed 6, he 4, maybe it was someone from the first game where I killed 12 ?.

So yeah good to see a good op back, I do find it easier, and would love something similar for T8's.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Quiet Comrade or they will send Narai to the Gulag again.  It's not Narai's fault! Her AI is... err.... special... Yes special! Using special soviet reversing tactics to 100% outfox players.

No bugs here comrade, all is in order.

@Sir_Sinksalot

Shchors can be awesome in Narai just like Helena or every other cruiser  when facing little trouble and friends.

If you decide to go for little trouble, use the island as cover (middle) whatever you do, you must reach that island before Little Trouble, launch torps, you must hit all of them, it by then should take damage and you will be able to sink it.

Miss the timing or the launch or if little trouble don't die, you are in deep crap. But usually he dies right then and there.

If you decide to go for the cv (left side) keep an eye in Little Trouble's guns all the time, use all the cover you can find and be very close to the cover (you may shoot emerald and Emile, it's up to you) but keep watching the guns.

When Little trouble goes behind the island, then you must go between the islands in the left side  (you may shoot Little trouble just before that, it's up to you)

Be careful with Atlanta bot.

When you get detected, activate the Hydro, kill DD, then the cruiser, then the cv.

Sometimes a second ship is needed it .

Then join the team.

The credit loss is quite strong. I gave it a try yesterday, my speshul team went everywhere but in the harbour - leaving me alone with my Sinop. And plz WG buff sinop I couldn't carry alone /s.

170k damage, no star - I did something like 500 credits (only 20% flag, and premium account), which is worse than coop.

So, for PVE players, coop is the way to go - unless you ensure your victory with a trusted team. I will try again, evaluate for 5 stars what's happening, once I can trust the team more aka later in the week. But keep in mind that coop games usually last far less, around 5 minutes.

so basically wargaming introduced a bug to help stop the XP farming in Narai for the PaytoRico event...

which is used a justification to remove the OP altogether to 'fix' the pathfinding

'fix' of pathfinding is used as a smokescreen for a Massive economy nerf and somehow they make the pathfinding WORSE ?

WG's contempt for the PVE players is reaching new heights it seems

If you are solo and in SInop or other BB try to drag one unsuspecting teamate in the harbor with you. Use polite language to lure him in so as to be used as meatshield, usually is enough to carry but 2 or more even better.
