I’ve noticed that there aren’t too many cruisers in queue. I’m not sure why that is but clearly a lack of cruisers will encourage DD and CV players to play as their primary counter is lacking.

Yes, i play mostly battleships and cruisers, i am an aggressive player and i tend to move in closely to deal more damage. Addition of new pan-eu destroyers made the gameplay much worse atm, the matchmaker change didn't help. Destroyers have too much influence on the battle outcome, team with better (longer surviving) DD's will win, only a CV might change the battle outcome. 

 

Pan European destroyers are like OPsashio without deep-water torps, even cruisers have problems with dodging their torps, cruisers on lower tiers have no heal nor the speed to hunt them down. Crusiers should be destroyers counter but they obviously are forced to stay in the back or camp behind an island.

It can single handedly  keep a flank at check. Without a thinking CV, radar cruiser or a ballsy destroyer Asashio can do whatever he wants as long as he keeps his guns silent.

Have you by chance considered that you are sailing to the wrong position or sailing the wrong way to it? Broadsides deserve punishment.

We are terribly sorry but we can not see anything we can help you with there, if there are 4 dds please protect your destroyers by supporting them so they get spot and dealt with.

If there is a CV in the match stick to your cruisers so you both can benefit, maybe just maybe correct your approach to the cap circles so you can enjoy the benefits of longer endurance in a fight....

No.

• you can sail broadside
• there is a thing called rudder that you use when you get spotted to NOT show broadside
• when you take note of your concealment, you know when you can expect to get spotted and plan ahead
• you do not need to move to a flank when that exposes you
• not all flanks force you to sail broadside to reach them

4DD'sper side? I have not seen a game with that many DD's a side in weeks.  Was there a division of 3 DD's on one team by any chance? 

 

I am personally seeing more games with 0 DD's than I am seeing games with 3 or more on each side.

I play almost only cruisers, and seem to have the worst of luck in always getting CV matches.

I don't really mind DDs though, in fact I like to hunt them whenever possible, and also sometimes when it's impossible which leads to some embarassing moments every now and then... but it's important to keep the fear of god instilled into the little buggers even if it means you sometimes get a fast trip to the bottom of the ocean yourself.

 

You have to watch out for the CV planes and know how CVs tend to play. First lap tends to be a scouting run, then they usually prefer to keep harassing the flank they spawned on, reset caps if possible, and of course, finish off low HP or isolated ships. If you're lucky the enemy CV isn't very good and will only send planes to the flank he spawned at for the entire game.

 

At the start especially, if you see planes heading your way, turn out or in or at least prepare to do so depending on the mobility of your ship. Know your plane spotting range. And for the sake of god don't sail at max speed on the same course full broadside if you get spotted at a bad time, keep track of whatever is firing at you and dodge. At 20km+ it's basically impossible to hit an actively evading cruiser or even some BBs that's paying attention unless you're good at gambling or have RNGesus on your side.

 

All that being said, I agree that CVs are [edited]. Spotting should be minimap only, and AA should actually do something.

OMG, this is a nice example of an propaganda post! Yes, they might be harmless at the beginning, most of ships are harmless at the beginning of a match , truth is that they are far from harmless later on. They lack alfa strike but deal a lot of indirect damaged caused by flooding and can spam torps without boosters.

And we were talking about the "few first minutes".

 

When they survive longer, then they are either pretty good or your team dropped the ball.

And no, booster reload and EU DD torpedo reload is "a bit" different.

hilarious advice... with 2 CV, planes are all over the map, 2 attacks of a rocket squadron (undodgeable) and I lose 80% of my HP...

if you get into a battle with 2 CV, check first if the 2 enemy CV are potatoes or not, and if they aren't... for me it's W, sneak up from behind an island, unload torps point blank and die --> next battle.

Never happened to me. You must do something different.

 

And taking a more indirect route as a DD is a good protection vs early rocket attacks.
