Resetting 2 lines in a split tech tree for research bureau

You can do this differently:

 

You reset a line

then you Research all the ships up to TX with free xp not purchasing anything

then you reset the same line again

Then you Research an Play the line.

 

This way you get 20k Research Points for playing T VI to TX ships.

If you had a x2 Bonus open you get 30k Research Points.

It is. As both branches are going from T6 to T10 you will get full amount of research points which means 10k per line. If you time reseting both them so that you get x2 bonus on both this will mean 20k per line for total of 40k. You will need to grind T1 to T5 only once for both branches.

If you want WG confirmation then ping someone from the staff here or on their discord or just send a query to player support. But this is how it works. I reset both US cruiser line at the same time, true only one of them for x2 bonus and collected 30k RP. If you reset both lines for x2 bonus you'll get 40k.
