Why use 2 000 000 million free XP on uber nerfed Hayate?

Just bought Hayate. I have 0 free HP now, but i already have all FXP ships. After seeing how huge this ship is, my setup is a full torpedo build without smoke. I just can't imagine her in a role of gun boat with 6.1 km concelement.

 It is a good idea you have that we get a few games to play and deside if you want to keep..

Yes 2M is to much in my opinion but 1M was to little.. Why WG did not just go to 1.5 i dont know double the price is some inflation..

 

I just get trigered when people keep comparing any Coal/Steel/Free XP ship to real world money costs as WG aim is to make you play to get these ships not through money at them (though of cause they will let you if you so want)

To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact I'm waiting to see what the Siegfried is going to cost, resource wise, I'd probably jump on the Hayate.

 

I do find her more interesting potentially than Småland.

At 1,867M myself..with a another 1,16mil that I could convert if I had the dubloons (don't, yet)

spending cash to convert is a rip off... i dont think i would conider it if the return was double what it is

But I see RB is a very good source of Fexp If you ask me.. 

I have no interest in a tier 10 atlanta, 
OHIO looks cool, but I have Thunderer and Bourgogne so I can live without another tier 10BB, because they are obsolete in competitive anyway :) 

 

I have around 100K RB points, 
which translates into I guess 4 mil fxp..I like it :)

Here is some examples on how I play it. In the first video at the half way mark I pretty much kite the entire enemy team while just racking up damage and killing them of.

 

 

In this one I go in and Solo cap on Tears of the Cruisers. Start at short range and then go into more long range fire/torp spam.

 

 

Dont know if these can help you develop a playstyle for it but I always loved Zao and with legendary module it just get even better.

If they would just release any more REAL ships, I would at least take a closer look. But somehow WG feels compelled to conjure up paper crap after paper crap because they are so $$$-fixated at T10.

Come on, go and restrict T1-T9 ships to coop, so you can finally force all random players to buy your fancy T10 premiums.

A lot of hybrids have the same camo (daring, haru, marceau, z52) and real gunboats have lot worse. 6.1 is totally balanced for this kind of firepower

How fast are the shells ? Exactly like Shima or somehow faster ?

 

I can see myself slapping a range module + AFT and gunboating in open water 15 km away

Gunboating on X tier, without penetration and with slow speed + no repair is rather stupid idea.  And her firepower is nothing special.  The only case she can fire her guns is a DD as target or behind island. Camping in smoke is so dangerous, with so little to gain, that this is not an option too. Is much better to be silent, and look for ideal torp drops.

 

I made mine as full torpedo boat, becouse her DPM with torpedo booster is very close to Shima.  If average game lasts 15 minutes Shima with full torpedo build for 12 km (117s reload) will fire 8x15 torps, while Hayate with the same build 8x10 + 3x10 from reload booster(not taking into account SI) = 120vs110.

 

Extra DPM + turret traverse, I see as defense/attack bonus. So far i have about 90k average from 4 morning games with no such many ships: 2x 6vs6, 2x 3vs3. Most DMG was done from torps, but some from fights with enemy DD. Already won ex. with Halland wich tried to chase me, and lost with my rear turrets. But close engagment with ex. Harugumo is practically impossible to survive. Not pleasent thing is, that almost every DD will push You out of cap by out spotting and You can't move forward into fight with one turret at nose. So ex. Shima (not talking about Gearing with legendary module)  on flank will make your life very miserable. Constantly spotted, without any chance of seeing 5.6 km enemy, You can only run for life, leaving Your comrades without DD help.

I agree she looks like torp focused hybrid that can do a gunfight in a pinch, sort of IJN take on Gearing and not a gunboat, we already have one in IJN line that does it far better

come on, even the "drama queen CC" made "how crap hayate is" video.. and he did 220K damage in it with 3 or 4 kills :)

 

I am not paying 2million free exp just to try her out, now that is just silly; perhaps the bear should not charge such a high price then people may enter the wood.

You don't need to buy her to try her gameplay. Take Shima without camo module and feel that thrill, when another Shima (mayby legendary Gearing) will lit you constantly and spam torps at Your direction. And smart player will not attack You having Your team at front, and his behind, but he will out spot You for death :-P. And any move toward him with one gun forward is a suicide, so this ship mayby has some firepower to use, but only when somebody stupid is firing and chasing her.

 

But every DD player knows about it exactly ...

Was looking forward to this, todays meta with the roll/steamroll matches where cv's frack things up, shima fallen behind, and now they present this stoneage nerfed Hayate? 2mill?

Because the playerbase voted they want Hayate for FXP and not for coal, steel or RP.

Everything else can be easily seen looking at stats of the ship (e.g. wowsft.com).

What can NOT be seen is that Hayate has hidden nerfs in module  hitpoints. Every second shell that connects to your hull disables engines (propulsion). Turrets are also very weak. These two 'features' are very pronounced, you can feel it instantly.

The difference vs. Shima or Haru, or any other IJN DD is extremely clear, Hayate can not go into fire exchange, since upon fire it always loses engine and turrets. Turrets have 6 mm armor, and most probably some ridiculous low amount of hitpoints. Engine the same - even with the module and preventative maintenance skill (but at least for engine you can use Last Stand to make it not an instant death).

 

Hayate is the only DD in which I regularly lose more than one turret... For this reason alone Hayate is not a gunboat, period. Now, I am not saying that Hayate can not be used with success, just that it is not as one would think, a IJN gunboat. I needed to quickly readjust the ship configuration and tactics, after realizing how badly it was nerfed via hidden stats.

 

WG, come on, is this really the way to go? Hidden stats that make it far worse than one could expect at looking at the 'visible' stats of a ship...

Seems like an odd shima from gameplay vids and peeps impressions so far.

Defo not worth 2mil, 1mil-1.25mil seems more acceptable, seems more like a 750k free exp ship however in terms of performance and roles it can take so far.

 

Lets hope yoshanis waifu shigure doesn't end up on teh shelf, bin, basket or port for life.

If they had the pricing range for freexp ships say: T7 - 375k, T8 - 500k, T9 - 750k and T10 - 1mil or even 1.2mil that would sort of make for a logical progression, this way with 750 becoming 1mil and 2mil respectively and only way of really resupplying the super econo glags being cash its just, no...
