I don't remember any ST talking about last minute changes. Did WG change anything?

It must be the concealment:

The last known version had 6.1km concealment, which is a lot (500m) worse than Shima.

So if it's now "slightly worse", it must be ~5.8km.

The reviews were not overly enthusiastic about this ship. I think Flamu explicitly stated it would not be worth 2M FXP. So now it is 2M FXP. What changed in the meantime that might make this ship worth it?

 

Ofc it had to be 2M FXP. Otherwise the owners of Smaland would feel cheated. But Smaland seems to fit into the current meta with AA, long range torps and radar. Hayate has no gimmicks. How is it supposed to be competitive?

I think they mentioned in the Armada video that it has a base concealment of 7.7km (which is pretty bad considering its lack of firepower), which should still be 6.1 with skills and modules

People voted for FXP so they got it. It has the gimmick of being a mediocre IJN premium

I will buy it, because I play primarly IJN. Though I agree with most comments here, it's way to expensive. Also it has classical Wargaming IJN design: Somewhere an advantage, with dozens of disadvantages.

imo they should remove all camos and add multiple camos for a ship just for cosmetic effects

There is a reason everything in this game is focussed around T10:

 

Any player, who want to participate in (most) events has to get to T10 asap.

Anyone is buying those ugly camos? I mean I got so many just by playing this game. Though I would buy nice, (historically) looking camos. So that makes money as well

Yes, otherwise they wouldn't appear in the shop everytime with also increasing prices. Looks like the demand is there.

CC's reviewed it and called it mehh, average, a ship with no real identity neither a torp boat nor a gun boat and hit with the anti Japanese hammer WG seem to have held for several years now. 750 fxp for  Missouri and Musashi I get is a bit low, 1mill for Alaska I get and about right, 1.4 million maybe for a T10 ship...again about right but for a mehhh t10 none russian freemium you laughingly value alongside the Smolensk. I think not. WG are getting tighter and tighter with content these days, gold issued along with new ship releases in the premium shop bundles down from 9k to now 3k, doubloons removed from xmas crates as compensation, less flags, less camo's also in these crates, free tech tree ships with early access bundles that could cost you upto 91k gold to buy all the bundles. Now upto 250k for coal ships and FXP ships now costing 2 million, a 100% increase on the last t9 release, really? 100% for a 1 tier step up. 

 

WG are doing this to milk away accumulated resources from those they consider whales in the hope they keep buying these over inflated premium shop packages. I have almost every ship on my main uptill xmas this year but WG's current shady practices and big reduction in value of anything currently on sale has made me put away my card, if the plan was to encourage more or continued purchasing reducing value of everything while increasing the price is not the way to go about it. You have put me off spending not encouraged me to spend more money on content with less and less value. 

 

Yuwatsit...a forgettable ship with an unforgettable price tag. Get real, technically a free ship, but not in time or effort required to accumulate such a vast sum of fxp.

This year there is MUCH less camo inflation than any year before, thus far. None of these camouflages can be obtained outside of missions (you can't buy them), you can of course buy the super expensive stupid camo bundle that contains all camouflages and get 5 of each, but even that would not get you very far. So inflation ? Not really, as they clipped the best you could buy (pi camouflage) from the store this year, last year and the year before they were made available, this year none. Not even for quests. The entire Pi day was silently skipped, why? Because the camouflage is awesome for farming captain and free exp and as such WG would have an interest in limiting the availability of such camouflages.. Nothing more to it. So no, no more influx, that's bollocks. There are monkeys (like me) that have a lot of dragon flags, so with a good game I can quite easily rack up 20-25k free exp with dragon flags and the Black camo (150% free exp). That still means 40-50 really good games.

 

Whole lotta MEH.. 

 

Rather spend the F.exp on getting Ohio as it is a better boat than either two, but.. We'll see..  Wonder what'll come in the christmas containers this year, not going to buy a single ship just to see what will be available.

There is no hybrid DD for the IJN, so it's actually something special for IJN players, though the stats are not that great, it seems. With 5.9 concealment, it would be great.

I hear you there, for sure it does fill in a gap in the roster but point i'm making for 2 million fxp...it is a bit mehhh, infact for 2 million...its a lot mehhh lol, and indicative of the continued fall in value of ships, packages and bundles while the price steadily increases. Wasn't the Tirpitz the first t8 premium at £24.95, now a t8 BB will set you back around £39.95. I don't mind spending in a game, I spent a small fortune here, WoT and warthunder among others, but the value I feel i'm getting is way less than 2 years ago and many of these ships are just reskinned tech tree ships, not only is value falling but WG are just getting lazy. Tweak stats, stick a skin on it...£40 please, or have some credits a few crap flags and bundle it with a reskinned tech tree ship for £59.

 

As you say the Japanese lines could do with some love after years of neglect, a hybrid dd does fill a gap but for what it brings the 2 million price tag is obscene.

expensive by what way? by play game? every battle what you make gives you free xp.

if you calculate that 2mil free xp for only real money then yes, maybe little bit  too expensive.
