They are sisters, so they should be pretty similar. Hydro versus torps does make for very distinct playstyles, although I'm a long way from being a BB meister, plus Bismarck has - I think - somewhat better AA, not that this makes an enormous difference.

 

Besides the torps (as a DD main, I feel peculiar without at least some torpage), Tirpitz has the premium economy, so she gets a lot more use - for me anyway - than the Bismarck does.

 

I would be cautious listening to me though; besides being even worse than usual with BBs, I've got my KM ones from T7 onwards built for 'fun' (i.e. semi-manly), rather than optimally...

I'd chime in they are somewhat different Bismark's hydro gives you alot of leeway in island creeping and torpedobeat. Meanwhile the Tirpitz is a destroyer on illegal steroids. I think this explains it better:

Bismarck is probably better overall due to very useful hydro and better AA.

Tirpitz torps though, give any battleship trying to brawl you the choice to either eat torps or turn away showing broadside.

 

I ambushed a full health Kremlin and blew him up with torps and a citadel. It did hurt though.

Bis is good but those Torps are a huge bonus, AA was better on Bis and Tirps was  very poor, since the latest AA sector update Tirpitz now knocks down planes with very little effort, you say about a Kremlin my best double strike remains against a Yamato and Missouri.   Be honest your in a Bismarck going head to head would you rather be facing a Bismarck, Massachusetts or Tirpitz ?.  At 6km you’ve got the mains, secondaries and torps coming at you, what use hydro ?.

I have:

 

Asashio and Asashio-B, Cossack, Kidd, Tirpitz, Massa-B and Kaga.

 

As a DD my T VIII are a match for any Tier X... I have plenty of higher tier kills...

 

As a BB not so much, you really need to be smart and aware. However, team up and support Tier IX or Tier X and you can achieve great things.. I have had Citadels off Tier X ships.

But it seems like the before mentioned once seem to really be the go to choice of alot of you. 

Im not lacking in the premium ship department (sadly) 

But I don't have any  of those very popular bbs. 

 

As for someone who's dd playstyle is like a dice roll and really inconsistent. That falls away. 

 

Tirpitz seems to be really popular and still strong but since she's the Sister of Bismarck I am kind of hesitant to get her.

The problem being i played Bismarck but i much preferred Gneisenau  over it. Bismarck felt slow like a turtle.

But I'm enjoying things like the Vanguard and that thing also isn't the fasted and besides its very forgiving heal as basic as a bb can get. 

Kii is like the Bootleg Tirpitz japan made and told to be more squishy and give it an extra gun, which i also like. 

 

But where Kii kites, Tirpitz brawls which in this meta is debatable so are they really simular? 

 

As for Massachusetts, i owned Alabama, clapped alot of cruisers and bbs with till economy became a severely annoying time problem and she got scrapped. 

And Massachusetts is like less range more secondary Alabama
