Noob Question (Consumables)

Hi, I've been playing about 3 days and I want to know what means in wiki https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Yamato

Exactly the line when it talks about the consumables, it says:

Slot 3: Spotting Aircraft (While active, a spotter plane circles the ship enhancing main battery firing range.) or Catapult Fighter (While active, a group of fighter planes circles the ship providing protection by attacking incoming enemy aircraft.)

What means "or"? Is it a random choose everytime you buy that ship and you cant change after the buy?

Or is there a way to select one or another every time before the battle or in-game?

Thanks in advance,

Hugo

Edit: I received a ZAO Tier X for 5 days to test in clans, so I've already checked and its a select option before the game starts. Thanks anyway, close or remove .

Yamato, like many ships with an aircraft catapult, can choose which type of catapult aircraft it has equipped. But, they share the same consumable slot, so you must choose.

Simply click the consumable slot to choose alternatives, including the "premium" version of a consumable which has reduced cooldown but costs 22.5k credits (this price is the same regardless of tier).

(I will mention that with next patch the "premium" versions of these consumables will be made free and the current "free" consumables are being removed.)

Lots of ships have this sort of option, many ships with a catapult can choose between fighters and spotters (though not all) and another common one you'll find is cruisers who can choose between Hydroacoustic Search or Defensive AA Fire.

The wiki as well as tools like https://wowsft.com/ have data on consumables available to each ship.
