Some random dude called me a noob and [edited] ingame, I told him to grow up, he reported me and I got chatbanned for a week. Nice WG.

It does happen a lot but i cant argue with you since you have more time then me and enjoy forum more then me.

Funny thing is, there is no proof for that.

Many claim to be innocent. Then WG gets involved, tells them what they did and suddenly these players get awfully silent... :Smile_trollface:

Fun fact. Banning someone for calling others an [edited], because the terms [edited] are actually medical terms that were used until the mid 1950's in psychology to describe the mental state of patients.

Fun fact. That does not matter. It is 2020. Stop living in the past.

Toxic gameplay is OK apparently, toxic chat will be punished immediately.

Well that is the main problem, calling out names at someone in chat is punishable by ban but when this person is insulting my intelligence and my whole effort in a game by just being ignorant or totally inexperienced well HOW AM I PROTECTED AGAINST THIS? Why do i have to be matched with completely inexperienced players at HIGH TIER MATCHES where the level of experience required should have been high enough to avoid this conflict? Wargaming are the sole responsible for this toxicity and you capitalize on this, this is irresponsible the least but as we all know since there is no law against this you will just keep doing it.

good sounds like you deserve it. Your superiority complex seems to have bitten you in the a***. Always nice to see that

Would you go and play basketball with 5 year olds as teammates? On a daily basis just because you love basketball? Well i would do it once or twice or maybe even if someone ASKED ME to so i could maybe train them BUT i wouldnt do it out of fun. I am playing this game to have FUN not to have to endure this TORTURE from having to deal with someone who just started this game and was given freely a T10 without effort or any basic training. I DO NOT WANT THIS, this is an insult to human intelligence. My superiority towards someone with 500 battles is inevitable if i have 25000 battles, i do not feel like i belong in the same tier with him/her and i DEFINETELY do NOT want to spend my precious FUN time with multiple instances of a person like this in a 12 vs 12 battle. THAT IS WHY THERE ARE TIERS FOR GOD's SAKE.....But WG somehow decided to destroy this tiered approach and they just hand out high tier ships to everyone despite if they actually deserve to have them.

Again, play this game at your own risk. Especially with your count of battles you should know this player base well enough and if you want to play with them or not.

The only thing you can do is git gud and carry the potatoes a bit more often. Sadly you can't stop them from suiciding.

1 thing only:

Give us  C H A T  B A N  I N S I G N I A S  so we can wear them with honor.

P.S: [edited]your gameplay wg. Your greed is creating the toxicity and not the players begging to have quality matches.

Goes in both directions, doesn't it? If they play like [edited] then it's on their own risk to be called just this. I don't understand why it is considered okay, and people defend it all the time, that people are throwing games intentionally, but calling them out is not okay? They are actively and purposefully wasting other peoples effort, time and money without any punishment at all. Not do they not get punished for this, but they even get protected, supported and motivated to continue doing this.

I've got mixed feelings about this. As a background, I've never been chatbanned myself, but lot's of times gotten a -1 karma that I can connect to something I said in chat with some certainty. Nowadays I think I'm slightly more civilized in chat than I used to be, and that has reflected positively on my karma.

While I support banning those who are racist in chat, or just spout insults and curses without any constructive criticism, I really cannot support making WoWS some kind of safe space where you can expect to get absolutely no criticism no matter how you play. While Wargaming does not care if some guy has 10k matches on tier 10 with 30% winrate, it should not enforce a policy that these guys should never get called out. My opinion is, that if you play a competetive game, you have a certain responsibility of trying to get better. If you cannot do that, you should either not play that game, or deal with the backlash you might get. You can't have your cake and eat it too. And I don't mean that "you suck noob" should be allowed. But usually you cannot even explain to a BB what angling means, without getting -1. So how exactly are players supposed to help others if they risk a chatban every time they try to do so?

Then feel free to continue to get banned.

There are rules. Ignore them at your own risk. And please stop complaining about the consequences when you do.

You can criticize other players without getting chat banned. It is not that hard.

THIS is the problem. Griefing, throwing games, etc. are against the rules. Is it sanctioned? No! Even if you complain to staff or send in tickets they get rejected with the comment 'use the ingame report' - which does jackshit as we all know. WHERE are the consequences for those people who throw games and sabotage the own team? Nowhere to find!

But as i said, anyone can do whatever they want to harm the team, people like you will defend it and WG supports this by closing all available eyes they have and give a crap about it.

Sure you can. As I said I myself have never been banned. But I'm also quite certain that not 100% of automatic chat bans are justified on the standards I personally would use to ban people. But that's just my opinion on what the chat ban treshold should be, you and everyone else are free to disagree. Also it's maybe more of a question on should we have the current report function in game or not (my opinion: absolutely not).

Warships is a PEGI 7 game, which means the language in chat must be suitable for 7 year olds to see.

Have you listened to a random 7 year old recently? I have heard life-long jailbirds talking more... decent. :Smile_veryhappy:

Alright, alright folks.

1. Everyone is allowed to play the game. If you think someone is deliberately harming your game (see the rules of the game for that), contact support with a replay/screenshots. IF that player in questions is actually harming your game (e.g. announced that he'll go AFK, there's a good chance support will act on that). Keep in mind though, that simply being bad at the game doesn't constitute that.

2. Bragging about getting chat bans is a no go! See rule 5 of the forum rules: 5. Don’t discuss illegal/forbidden activities

3. IF you think your chat ban is unwaranted you can contact support to go through your chat logs, but keep in mind what MrConway said in a similar thread a few months ago, that this might also uncover more!

Thread locked for being non-constructive
