As i posted in this thread: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/134468-playing-dds-in-the-current-meta/?do=findComment&comment=3455344 i,ve played in two days 47 games in Smaland. But this ship looks very OP when comparing to silver one like Gearing  However in my opinion 50 games can show false results,  becouse i don't belive that 72% was only my contribution.

In this games, there was no problems with CV, but she has tonn of  HP with those healing parties and working AA.

I don't think Småland is seen as one of the bad dds and showing past performances is also invalid imo. It's a good performance

I think you can get a 60% wr in any ship when you are a good player. A good player will recognize the strengths of a ship and use those. Staying alive and contributing to a 1,000 points is key.

Yes, maybe. Depends on what you regard a good player vs an excellent player. I'm a decent dd player, but I'd struggle to get 60% WR for 50 games in Z-52 and probably Gearing in this meta. Could it be done by a better player? Of course, but if the number of players who can achieve this consistently is too low, you probably have a good argument that these ships need some help anyway.

you have to base your play in a DD based on the situation in every game.

No one is arguing they are unplayable, what we are arguing is that they require a lot more skill and knowledge than everyone else. Playing DD feels like a job, while everything else is relaxed. This is the problem.

So how about we dumb down DD gameplay enough so every DDegenerate can do 150k damage average each battle at tier 8 EZ :Smile_great:

We'd get a flood of DDegenerates every battle with 4,5,6, maybe more DDs each and every game and this will make the game inherently unfun for too many players.

Imo the only thing holding DDs back, are the (imo too large amounts of) carriers. Especially tier 4 carriers are too common.

If it weren't for carriers, DDs would already be OP (in my opinion of course). The main thing holding me back when playing ships like Vladi and the ARP Kongos, are DDs (especially when it's 2x4DD matches).

I agree btw that DDs feel like a job. And I like them that way. I don't see how this could be made easier except in PvE scenarios like Sunray, Dunkirk and the twilight-something gamemodes where playing DD was very easy and kinda very forgiving.

I don't agree with you that playing DD being harder is the problem. The problem is that too many potatos who perhaps don't deserve to play top tier DD, keep playing top tier DDs (and keep blaming their teammates for "WHY U NO SUPPORTZ!!!111!!11" after he gets himself 4-minute recked).

When putting in the effort, I outperform in DDs compared to when I play BBs, regardless of how much effort I put into playing BB.

DDs require a brain. Not everybody will like this but that's the way it is and it should stay that way, if only because making DDs EZ mode will damage the game too much.

This would imply by your definition that in a game with no carriers DDs would reign free and a screaming potato would easily top the scoreboard.

Is that currently happening in the game?

I just played a game where my Benham was talking at game start about how we should focus the Worcester and Cleveland because of radar, and how he can't cap otherwise. Then proceeded to charge straight into cap, get radared, and be the first to die, earning some 250 points for his contribution.

After his death he typed:

*Omg, I hate radar. OP crap. Needs to be removed.*

A couple of days ago I had a Massa on my team in a T6-8 game who refused to get anywhere close to the action. He was asking "I need intelligence data" all the time. I was in a Skane and an enemy Chapey was making our life miserable. The Massa could have blapped him if he would only close. So after one more " I need intelligence data" I respond in chat " you need to close to the action". He gets salty and says: I don't have any heals left so I can't close. I tell him to grow a pair.

After the game of course I get a -1 and he stalks me with messages. He actually was top experience with me second and he says, see, I carried the battle. I respond no such thing you just camped and farmed damage.

Oh well, another day in WoWs. :cap_haloween:

Most radar isn't much of an issue to me, if that's what you meant. The only radar I find nasty is the 12km one from tanky ships that take forever to dislodge. Ships like DM and Wooster need more actual skill to play well vs DD and are easier to outplay for me because they have no 12km FoW removers nor any instagibcannons.

Telling him to grow a pair won't help though.

Btw, if he was sending you post battle 'fan'-mail, you can send those to customer support and he might get a chat ban. And these chatbans do work as I see people complain about them all the time.

Chapa is not a stronk OP ship. Chapa is quite squishy actually. But for DDs, its radar is kinda nasty, so obviously it would have to go before you can push in without any risk getting radared.

I can't really comment about the game you had btw. There's plenty people who stay in the back and farm damage all the time and I see them play any class.

I have the worrying feeling that when Subs go live (as we know they will in time) the pressure on DDs will only be higher. We may well end up looking back on this meta fondly, now that's depressing.
