Scharnhorst or Poltava or Ashitaka for ranks ?

Hello ,

So tier 7 ranks is coming shortly and I am wondering which battleship would be best for t7 . I have that french tier 7 with insane troll 16 guns but I guess I should get a premium bb and have narrowed down my choices to Scharnhorst,Poltava and Ashitaka . Scharn's 283 guns look quite underwhelming despite having torp armament for close range brawl . 283mm guns cant citadel bbs beyond 15km right ? SO I guess I go with Poltava or Ashitaka ?

Many thanks

Definetly Sinop. Ashitaka is a glass cannon, and neither the Poltava nor the Scharnhorst have the same presence as the Sinop's 406mm guns give her.

Sin-op, failing that take miss poltava or KGV for HE spam.

I'd take Poltava over KGV, she's got (it'd appear..) better AP to go with the HE.

Scharn might have some legs, I guess - you aren't going to be facing T9 BBs that make her a bit flaky for randoms, and the extra volume of fire compared to some of the bigger gunned siblings might come in handy...?

Easy for me to say though; I'll be giving my DDs an airing (as per usual)...

Ranking by their gun effectiveness in battle:

1.SinOP   (freakishly OP guns though I did get cit'd once while bow tanking so I don't trust this ship for close combat)
2.Colorado  (a true American, has amazing 16-inch guns and solid armor that ricochets BB shells when angled.... but awful top speed)

 3. Nelson (a great damage farmer and the forward-facing turrets helps with team support)

 4. Shiny Horse (cruiserfilth loathe you, destroyers fear you and BBs laugh at you)
 5. Nagato (the dark before the dawn, just terrible)

we should not advertise the russian ship, this will give WG more power to create new unbalanced ones

Scharnhorst has one advantage that nobody has mentioned once... Torpedoes and Sinop is a 33 second reload as opposed to Scharnhorsts 26... also you can get secondaries to 8km and with Manual Secondary gun control do serious damage to the careless.

I thought about taking Sharn and Sinop but I completely forgot Nelson even exists, might take her out for giggles as well...

Yeah, nelson might actually be the best choice. 406 HE + that heal? Hell yes

Scharnhorsts reload is 20 seconds but I completely forgot about its secondary buff so it now pens 26mm plating. Might be a very good choice. Of course, Gneisenau has even better secondaries.

Nelson is a very good choice as long as you know how to angle. The superheat is great but you can still only heal 10% of citadel damage.

No idea why I put 26....

If i go BB and not DD I have both Gneisenhau and Scharnhorst so will try them first.... Sinop will be my choice if they fail....

Gneisenau also has fewer secondaries 11x2 128mm and only 3 twin turret mains (With a 26 second reload)....

Last tier 7 ranked I played my Nelson almost exclusively, got to top rank in 2 days. Since it's a tier 7 thing, HP pools are low for each team, so your megaheal + superburn guns tilt the odds in your favor. Even in a defeat, you'll likeky farm so much damage & kills that you won't lose a star ;)

i will play Ashitaka and Gneisenau for the next ranked saison.

Ashikata because of the 10*406mm guns.

And Gneisenau is the most versatile TVII BB from my point of view

Thats all great but playing wows I ve learned that everything on paper is not actual in game also, like some tier 10 BBs big guns. Sure Gneisenau has less guns but I ve played with it and its really amazing battleship, guns are accurate and deadly, and torps are devastating at close range. Its a kinda mix of cruiser and battleship with nice speed and turn rate. So i would say it more depends what kinda player you are to choose a right ship.

Would definitely recommend Gneisenau BUT since its a russian game with some strange russian ingame things happening then Sinop.

Keep in mind its 7v7, there speed could be more vital then strength, number 1 Gneisenau / Schnarhrost

Gneisenau and Sharnhorst, they can literally do anything. Gun calibers are just numbers when you have 350mm belt, 30 knot speed and the handling to put some cruisers to shame.
