Spotted 10, mission says only 9. Why?

While doing a missiom that required me to spot 10 enemies, I got this:

Why didnt I finish the mission if I got the indication that i did spot 10 ships?

Does it need 10 different ships? As in, repeated ships dont count?

 

(it doesnt really matter, i know, i just gotta do another game and boom, mission done...)

Spotted ribbons are not the same as Spotting ships. You can get a Spotting ribbon multiple times for 1 ship.

So you need to spot 10 individual ships.
