And I thought CVs were bad.

I wish I never invested money into this game.

When will next Testing Round be by the way ?

Round 2 was before this and the News have not been Updated yet.

 

Glad Subs are coming to us tough. Really looking forward to this one.

If you are not playing a slow T5 BB vs a T6, you should most likely be faster than a surfaced Sub.

 

A Sub will be also easier to dodge, because when the sub is pinging, you will see the sub on the minimap. If a DD is 7 km on your broadside, you won't know that until the Torps hit you.

 

If you get the trick against Subs, I'm sure, it's not that hard to "counter" them. They are now a bit more like the Steel Ocean Subs with slower submerged, and the trick against them was just to move away, the Sub would never reach the target or could go for  good hits

Indeed, pings and homing Torps are also my main criticism. I somewhat liked the Halloween subs as well. At least they had deck guns as secondary guns

Can't wait till open test! I was looking forward for this a long time =D

 

Also, why are people crying about not wanting to play this game because of the subs? Did you guys even play with/against subs? No? Wanna try first before write them off? (Condemnation before investigation is the height of ignorance.)

 

I can't say I don't have a few concerns myself, especially after watching some video's of the closed tests, but I will keep them for myself until I have played with and against, to get a better perspective.

I'm not sure about this part. It should be actually the opposite.

High detection of Pinging in deep water -> The deep water is the defensive stance, not the attacker stance.

Low detection of Pings on Periscop-Level -> This is the attacker stance. While the pings are less noticeable, the submarine itself is easier to spot.

 

In general it feels wrong to be able to shoot torps from depth, but also having advantages (better concealment) to do so makes it totally wrong.

 

ps.: Even if I have my concerns about certain mechanics (and missing mechanics). Overall there are many good and new changes, that I'm happy with!

Guess people don't like changes. I'm happy about new content, especially I was Sub main in Steel Ocean, so I'm excited about it. Though I hope they change some stuff. They did some good improvments from Testround 3 to PTS Change, Test round 3 was imo the worst design. Testround 2 the best. Now they took some stuff from the Testround 2 and put it into the Testround 3 version to get the PTS version.

 

I think some people are concerned, that their gameplay will disturbed by new content. Though people should take different perspectives. I guess some BBs are like "Oh they add a SS, so I lose" But they don't think about, instead of a SS in the match, there could be an additional DD, let's say an Asashio. Is that so much better? I guess not. Also the DD threat might be lower, because the DDs are busy with SSs.

I guess in some cases it will be better to have a SS enemy instead of a DD

Alot of it is unfortunately down to WG messing up on CVs and other occassions.

Thanks to that alot of People are Outright against WG adding anything that brings new Systems to the Game. Because they fear that WG will do same as with CVs. And turn Submarines into something that is Frustrating other Classes Players.

 

WG unfortunately has lately been Pulling more than One Stunt which has Depleted Player Trust. Which builds up and keeps catching up them by having Players go Nuts over stuff that Normally would not even be a Problem or gain any meaningful negative Reaction.

 

The Majority of People dont work by Logical Reason void of Emotion. If someone is still Annoyed at CV Rework, Puerto Rico Death Grind, Swedish DD Lottery etc etc. He is very likely to see Negative Things extremely Amplified and Positive things extremely weakened when its coming from the same Source as his earlier Frustration which in this case is WG.

 

 

 

This is of course to some Degree Unreasonable. After all. WG has an Interest to make this Work. And usually WG does not on Purpose try to Frustrate Players.

They are a Company and they do want us to Play and Spend Money on them after all.

But thats how Humans work.

I am quite enthusiastic about subs, I mean, heck yeah! Cool new gimmick! Although I am still nervous about balancing, they seem alright if one plays as a new player, but if one gets really good at them, it could be gamebreaking. Just be careful with balancing and listen to the players, I look forward to playing them!

That's a cool mechanic, maybe the IJN Subs could get spotter planes as well? Some of them had spotter planes, only the I-400 had dive bombers, but putting spotter on them would be still okay :D

Could be dope, but maybe in the future :) We should wait till we get a balance class and after implementing subs, they could test the new gimmick. Just sayin they may need time

I know, I just saw that change, and I like that mechanic. I also like the re-implemented torpedo mechanic, that the torps stop homing around 1 km. Also the torpeds get slower, when turning. There is just some stuff, they really should change, but overall many good changes

And then the PREMIUM subs will appear...... WOWS is only interested in making money out of this game and until we ALL refuse to buy these stupid subs they will just keep introducing new products to buy. At the moment there are almost more premium ships than researchable ones. Money, money, money.

This leads to the deplorable state of game play, because any Idi*t can now get his hands on high tier ships and can therefore disturb gameplay.

Anyway, they will not listen to long time players and just keep going with all this sh*t. The only way is to walk away from the game and to refuse buying anything from them.

But you know the purpose of a company is to sell a product? xD

Of course they are interested in making money...

Beside that, it's a free to play game and nobody is forced to buy premium ships

Roughly Stated. We currently have roundabout 60% of the Ships in WoWs is Normal TechTree Ships. About 30% are Ships Buyable by Money.  And 10% is Ships only Available from Grinding Ressources or Events.

 

From what we know about Submarines so far. There is 10 Submarines in Total that were Revealed. 8 of which are Silver Tech Tree Ships and 2 of which are Event/Special Ressource Ships.

I am very Sure we will also get Premium Subs of course.

But Wargaming has so far always kept Tech Tree Ships the Biggest Pool. And in general for each Premium or Fremium Ship at least 2 Silver Ships come out.

You are right, but the problem is that any "player" can buy these premium ships and in doing so makes a mess from the games if he/she does not know or even want to know the basics of the game. During the last year I noticed the total lack of communication during the games and it is basically each one for himself and God for us all. I think it would be wise for WOWS to start something in the sense of training people to use ships and to play the game in stead of introducing new ships etc. in the game. It will improve game play and the fun people have playing it. So I do understand the reactions in the forum I read this morning and I feel like that myself too.

As has been Proven Countless Times already. We have Tons of Players which dont have any Skill even after Reaching Tier 10

Dying your way up is a Valid Method in this Game. And Honestly said its good this way.

 

Because if you would make this Game Hardcore and have Bad Players Fail when they try to Reach Higher Tiers without Appropriate Skill level. You would in 99% of the cases not cause these Players to Learn the Game. But have them Quit the Game as they are Denied Progress in it.

 

Thats just how the Truth looks like unfortunately.

 

 

I do think WG could do more to Educate the Playerbase. But Denying them Access to higher Tiers is not a Way that will help anyone.

 

 

If you want an Example just look over at the Simulation Mode in War Thunder.

Which is Hardcore and Extremely Punishing for less Skilled Players.

Truth is. In the Advanced modes of War Thunder. If your not Good. You will go out of it with Losses and not Progress at all.

 

The Result is a Playerbase that is smaller by not just 10 or 20% but more like 90%

You have this problem since this game exists, you always could buy the Tirpitz or Atago, even when you are new in this game. The number of premium ships doesn't matter. Also "training people" makes really no sense

 

1. It's a game, people want have fun and not work or training.

2. Some people are bad players, no matter how much you train them, they will only get better, what their potential allows. Some have 10k games and they are still bad. It's part of the game to play with worse players

 

I see no reason, why we shouldn't get new premium ships, just because there are bad players :D
