WG please introduce subs and wgc before end of may 2020, then i dont have to buy more doubloons and premium time   :cap_old:

 

On the other hand it could end like the the swedish accident "whiskey on the rocks"  :Smile-_tongue:  :Smile_child:

Despite playing this game for years, I've never worked out how to join the Public test server. It seemed to involve downloading another client and re-registering. Or something. And the Submarine article doesn't really help. Any ideas?

to you have war game center?  there was at page where you was able get a test id with that you can download test version

You basically have to redownload the entire client again and waste another 75gb of space on your drive. Why? Because Wargaming devs are too lazy to allow patching from PTB to normal like any other sane game does.

it can be that you talk some specific game because usually tests are separated from original games, soo yes for this test you need extra 50 GB hdd space

ok but what about the odd tier carriers? are you just going to forget about them? or are they going to act as ASW carriers? This is the issue. you havent even finished implementing carriers back after the rework and yet you are adding a whole new class of ships to break the game and balance even more.

No, not really. Pretty much every steam game that has a PTB just patches for about 15 minutes and you're good to go.

I would love to see a battleship fighting a sub lol. 

 

So what happens when your battery is dead? Are you gonna emergency surface? Do you need to wait like 1 min 30 to dive down again? How long can you stay underwater when you've charged that battery for 1 min 30?  Is there a required amount of time for the sub to stay on the surface before being able to dive down again (so in real life a sub needs to recharge compressed air in order to blow the tanks when underwater, so you can't dive before this compressed air tank is charged otherwise you would drown. So maybe they'll simulate some sort of this procedure). 

 

I mean if a battleship get's a fair chance of getting some salvo's into that sub, sure I think that would be balanced (so the sub needs to stay a moment on the surface before being able to dive down again). A very tiny vulnerable sub shouldn't be able to survive. If the battleship fails to get those shot's in, give the sub a chance to kill the battleship. If the sub fails the battleship can try again ect.

 

I get it, a lot of people are afraid of those sub's ruining the game.... and I won't blame them for it. I think the CV rework is far from being done properly. But that's one year ago. So maybe they learned something from it (yes yes I can already hear people saying they never learn but I think it's fair to give them another chance. And if you think it isn't... then I'll have to dissapoint you but we're (sadly) not the developers). Also, it seems people are forgetting that those sub's are not announced to enter random battles. They are going into a public TEST, just like the game did when in CAT and CBT. So we (and WG) are trying to gain information. How can we already judge something while most of us didn't even play these sub's ourselves? 

The last thing we saw from those sub's were crazy acoustic homing torps. But then again, it was just a TEST round and clearly the test gave a clear result: These torps can never enter the game. 

 

We're still in testing stage... no sign of putting sub's in random's. But yea I will agree to the fact that this is no guarantee WG will  properly implement them in the end stage of testing.... They can still screw this up. But I also think it's way to early  to make judgements about these things ruining the game. 

 

All we can do in the end is giving WG proper feedback about how sub's should be changed and implemented. Let's cross fingers and hope for the best....

WG has a VERY poor record of paying attention to feedback.:cap_horn:

Yes I totally agree with you. And most of the time they won't. But we're not talking about a singel ship or ship line.

We're talking about adding a whole new  class into the game. And I understand why people are suspicious about this chip class, if they do screw up, they'll do real damage to the game. But I can't imagine WG not taking this into account.... again, it's not just a single ship. 

It's no guarantee that they will listen to us... but I  read that they brought back normal sufacing. They removed the hydrophone. It's not possible to spot ships anymore by pinging them with your sonar. 

 

So at least they are listening to some feedback (at least they're doing it for now.....) about these subs.

 

But ofcourse.... I am not going to deny your post... they have a very poor record of paying attention do feedback. That's why I said we should cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Yea but that would a be a bit unfair.... I can't chose as a player to remove Carriers from the matchmaker while those things are broken as hell... I can't chose as a player to remove battleships because I don't wanna get blaped by a battleship..... There are a lot of things coming into the game WE the PLAYERS CAN'T CHOOSE.... Also Subs are getting their own gamemode to test them.... so you can choose to test subs out yes or no

So they can "reload" battery while being submerged. The can't "ping" with empty battery but can still move.

I just shortened the quote to not bloat it up here and save some space.

 

I totally agree with your statement. Thats the aproach for us as the playerbase to see it. WG cant make everything to every players linking, they have to balance all players interests, but we all have to come to some consesus and i think this way, with a lot of constructive feedback and not *delete subs* or *delete CV* statements.

I think they have learned and now try to make their ideas accetable und playable for all of us.

 

 

So, to all of those that are sceptic:

 

 if you think subs will break the game in randoms, what should you do? play the testversion, give feedback how it can be fair and playable for us. Give them a chance. This game will allways develop and is dynamic, its what keeps the players in the long run. You dont have to like every new aspect they introduce over time, but im sure we will all still play this game in the long run. If you like this game, subs wont change that and if you give it a try, leave feedback and maybe you gonna end up liking it, but even if you dont, it will still be a damn good game.

Its still a test. I dont agree with subs recharging underwater so they dont have to surface for that but it can change. And maybe you you will need to surface for oxygen. I dont know how the mechanics work, we dont know a whole lot, but we can soon find out by testing and commenting on the test. Maybe we can make the changes we think we need for it to be competetive and enjoyable.

Yes everyone has that choice. But saying "i wont play if subs coming to the testserver" is a bit cheap and people take themselves a bit too serious. If WG would allways listen if some people say "if this <insert feature/mode XY> comes i will not play anymore" we would not have a game at all, because im sore some cruiser players hate BBs, some BB players hate DDs and some DD players hate CVs. This wont get us anywhere.

I'm saying that I wont play if subs make it into the main game. Just as a heads up to WG not to spend any resorces on this on my behalf and so they don't have to act surprised when/if playernumbers drop afterwards.

Im sure they wrote that down and are now changing their plans, to make the game fit you more so that you still buy your premium and they wont be out of jobs....

submarine was introduced already sometime ago that they will be at game, it should not be BIG surprise that they will now release those

 

development takes time that's why they not added those sooner

When i played the halloween event, subs seemed to work just fine. Had to aim and predict just like in a DD. I dont get it why we need this homing torp c**p.
