Pick for tier 7 ranked

What are your top picks for the tier 7 ranked in May?

The glib answer is 'whatever you do best with', with a bit of refinement on the basis that AA will - of course - be irrelevant.

 

I'm a DD main, so my starters for ten will be Z-39 and Haida; both are good for their tier, and both are premiums, so if I can contrive not to suck too much they should generate decent rewards.

 

Edit: Ranked is enormously frustrating a lot of the time, so pick something that's fun to play too!

Simple answer: I'll play everything at least once (until the daily win bonus is gone) and then wait till the next day and do it again until I have ranked out or can't be bothered to go further (more likely). I like variety and find it boring to play the same ships multiple times in a row. I don't even do that when grinding.

You can do a lot worse; depending on how much coal you have, the coal hydro mod might not be a bad idea (it gives you 216 secs run time, which is glorious - I have it on mine from a previous T7 event - sprint, I think)...

Back in the day when I played Ranked I know I enjoyed Mahan and Leningrad at Tier VII (the latter being a fabulous little ship I bought to play in Ranked and had forgotten about. Took her out last night and had great fun).

 

Sinop was the BB of choice and I suspect it still is.

 

Fiji is an obvious choice for cruisers, but I'd give Zara or Gorizia a go in a division -  whacking DDs is important and they are both very, very good at it (especially Gorizia with an RPF build).
