How to designate my RMB to the Artillery camera

Hihi.

I want to change my controls between the 'shift' and my RMB.

The shift button is designated to the artillery camera, the RMB to several functions.

Now I want to exchange them, so my RMB will be the artillery camera and the shift button for the other functions.

The problem I have that all the standard RMB functions can be designated to the 'shift' button, but it is not allowed to designate the RMB to the artillery camera.

I even switched off the 'Restore the camera position (free look), and of course I unchecked the shift button on other functions firstly.

I only see a crossmark and a 0 to erase  and can only assign other buttons to it, but no RMB.

How can I solve this?

Because I prefer to zoom in with my RMB instead of the shift button.

Best regards.

Huh it seems you are right, can't change it either. For me the Shift for artillery view is hardwired into my brain since Beta, so unless you somehow can mod around the issue it seems you have to stick with Shift I'm afraid.

Unpack by wowsunpack utility, edit and move to mods: /command_mapping/preset_keyboard_1.xml

Remember that file content could be changed with a new patch.

Replace keys here:

        <CMD_ART_CAMERA context="battle" type="forceTap">
            <VALUE key="KEY_LSHIFT"/>

        <CMD_OBSERVE_CAMERA context="ship" type="hold">
            <VALUE key="KEY_RIGHTMOUSE"/>

However some combinations assigned to different events may cause in game problems, but are fixable. Myself I always used middle mouse button (wheel click) as art camera.

        <CMD_ART_CAMERA context="battle" type="forceTap">
            <VALUE key="KEY_MIDDLEMOUSE"/>

Odo_Toothless.

Thanks for your reply and explanation.

I have never used wowsunpack to do this stuff.

And I'm not so familiar with modding files.

Nevertheless, thanks for letting know that there is a possibility.

Although I would like it if the devs will change this into the ingame settings of the controlls.

Best regards.
