Shell flight time was nerfed and is now worse than the Daring. Without smoke it sounds a bit tricky. Most reviews I’ve seen were from before that nerf.

 

I suppose, load it up with the special speed boost module and it could be fun.

I liked her in testing.. However she is a challange to play. High detection distance not so high HP. But great guns and usable torpedoes. defensive fire for the inevitable CV attacks.

@Ocsimano18 Just looked at you profile.. I would say for you no.. dont get her YET.  get your self a tier X DD first experiance the game play. Play you Pan EU ships (no smoke) see how you like them..

I would definatly get more experiance in DD's and DD's with no smoke before spending all that coal on her... Get her know i think you will struggle with her and not enjoy the experiance

It seems thai there are much better coal  ships in the armory right now.

 

Marceau guns were Colbert ones, but they have been nerfed so much (lighter shells, damage, no 360 turrets) that I think the ship isn’t worth 200k coal, considering that you can have Kitakaze for the dakka-experience or Kleber for the fast-boy gameplay.

High concealment short range reminds be a bit too much of a Khabarovsk. And while gun dpm is quite top kek on Marceau, its hard to flex one when you're notoriously outranged.

seriously  there are easer DD's to go for with your Midway.....

 

Saying that old chap with CV's in Clan battles know ... would not be supprised if some clans try to poach you.....

I tested her and didn't like her - as some made clear, her skill floor is high and I'm not good enough. 

 

The high arcs and short range make her guns mostly usable only on very close ranges.

She's fast but not fast enough and her AA is good but not good enough. CV will still snack her away.

On the plus-side - she works as a funny pve-brawler.

From what I saw from the ones playing her... she was tricky to master but had potential for an interesting game-play.

 

After the multiple nerfs... I don't think she is worth wasting coal on her.

 

IMO before the coal ships were fun ships that were same or better than the silver ones, priced fair, for the most part. Recently (and according to dev blogs - in the future as well) coal ships are more of a unnecessary pile of rust on your port when you have tons of coal without knowing what to do with it. Most of the new coal ships are not worth anything, as far as I'm concerned.

i was looking for her for the ambush style MNDD play we lost with the Kleber nerf. The reviews you guys gave to her made me not to want her anymore. Now I feel depressed.

Well, she certainly looks like she will be anything but a boring ship to play..

 

And as I have always said, I will forgive a ship a lot of faults as long as "boring" is not one of them.

Yea, there is that. The same things that make her potentially fun also make her a high skill floor ship.

Seems it's Khabarovsk 2.0 with better 6,8 km stealth, shitty shell arcs and 9 km 60 knot slowpoke torpedoes.

Might get it since the alternatives are Thunderer and Georgia and I dont care for tier X BBs port queens

In the current state I didnt enjoy playing this ship. Only advantage marceau has over the kleber ist slightly better concealment and defensive AA. With a heal or a smoke and faster shells the marceau could be a good one.

The range spam, fast dds are pretty annoying though. There's a good reason why Khaba was nerfed in several steps. Not sure what role Marceau fit into. I hope it's more than a long range HE spamming dd. Bad arcs should prevent that to some degree, but close up, Kleber seems like a better option. I'll pass on it for now.
