The steamrolls are starting to get really boring. Every other game end with a 10 - 0 Victory, or even 12 - 0. Something need to be done. Either tweak the MM for better matched teams or ban players under a certain WR or whatever from T10 matches.

Are you enjoying T10 these days? Im the hell not!!

Problem is that it's to easy to get to T10 without knowing anything about how the game works. Lots of suggestions have been made how to "fix" this but nothing from WG so far. My suggestion is to put a "test" of some sort before you can move on to the next tier and that you can't buy/use premiums that are more than one tier above your highest Tech-tree ship.

I cant refer my gaming experience much to T10 as of late (due to the reasons mentioned here).

Just had a T5 game, in which half (!) my team suicided within 5 minutes. Yeah that was fun too ... even when you are considering the fact that at this Tier there are plenty of newbies still learning the game.

That's true. I think that my decicions regarding grinding kind of saved me from this, because, back to the PEF event, if you remember, there was that last directive with national specific missions and there was this problem with some players having just a few nations and they wouldn't have been able to complete it, exc.; and it was around that time that i decided that instead of grinding just a few lines, or a few nations, i would instead have grinded besically almost every nation in the game, in parallel, so that in an event of simething like that happened again, i would have any problems with nation specific directives. 

I think it was better for me to grind this way because i stood at lower tiers much longer ( I still concentrated myself on some lines tho, primarely on IJN and German). Also, shout out to Flamu for basically teaching me how to play; i really improved my performance thanks to him.

I actually wanted to make a similar suggestion, just without the "more than one tier above...". I mean, if you have a Tier 5, you can ony buy a Tier 5 premium and so on. (Of course this should not affect Resource ships or Container ship, just Premium and doubloon ones)

Play only DDs, CVs above tier 8. Anything else is an exercise in frustration.

Possibly Jean Bart/Bourg and DM/Stalingrad can work too.

Can you explain this to me if you have the time for it?

 

I keep hearing mentions of free premium consumables, are the regular consumables being removed and the premium one being made standard or something?

Every other game old enough maked perma ranked battle, so unicum have fun with unicums and potatos can fun with their own kind. Game old for 6 years need any kind of skilled mm since me, player for 5years cant really be matched vs guy who yesterday brought his shiny Tirpitz and similar MM. Atleast split MM into 2 groups, one bellow 50%wr and one above 50%wr.

I think this was mentioned at the infamous St Petersburg CC gathering a year ago.   This is where the infamous Naval Training Centre (?) was presented to the CCs.   Basically by grinding more you could unlock something to make each ship more powerful.  Some of the bonus were OP.

 

The NTC became the Research Bureau which is available in the armoury.

 

I think that as the NTC did not happen the premium consumables to all is not going to happen.

Literally every time i take out Stalingrad, but its getting worse.

Every enemy focus's on me. They sit behind islands any range spam me, even when unspotted. I run away, they yolo suicide broadside into my team just to get to me.

3rd last in XP ofc. Was even 9 minutes play time. Only because our team got stuck behind A and took them minutes to get away from there.

Even if i would suicide aswell, i couldnt shoot them as they sit just behind islands. 1 Of them ofc sacrifices to spot me (this time a Shima/Mino/Yamato) taking turns when the previous died.

What do you mean with "these days"?

For me it's not really been enyoable to play T10 battles since.. well.. I got my first T8 ship (and noticing that using a T10 ship isn't any more fun either)

 

About a year ago I predicted here, that sooner or later each and every potato will have died it's way up to T10. So.. seems I was right, right? ^^

The downside of having no "skill" barrier to higher tiers, only a "how many games have you played" one. For example somebody earning just 250 Base XP per game will get a T10 ship within 5k battles (it takes upto 1.25m XP to go from T1 to T10). Once you add camos, signals, premium time etc that 250 Base XP actually becomes over 1k earned XP, meaning that 5k games becomes just 1250 games at a 250 BXP level of player skill.

 

If they're an even bigger whale with access to Special signals the requirement drops to bugger all - earning 250 BXP in Co-Op with every special signal nets me around 3k XP and 3k FXP - if you convert that FXP across it's 6k XP per game = 210 games played to go from T1 to T10 earning just 250 BXP but being a whale!

 

That's the problem of Higher Tiers here at WOWS. I suggested something similar to Gran Turismo's "licence" system where each new Tier is "unlocked" by passing a skill based scenario but WG don't want any "skill based" system as they believe (rightly or wrongly) that people will quit if they can't potato their way into a Yamato after only 1250 games!

Speed yolo suiciding. 3 mins per game, few hundred XP. NEXT SHIP. rinse repeat. Much better for the average potato than to actually play 15+ mins to get 1k base XP (lets be honest, they wont get more anyway).

If you referring to the fast grind up to T10:

 

I have to disagree. The worst offenders in those steamrolls are have often far over 15k battles on their accounts.

 

Problem in T10 is: For 5k Dubs, you can fail as hard as you want, you still wont loose much money.

It is very, very simple. You need to have a system where you graduate from one skill level to the next if you achieve a certain level of ability. So noobs play with noobs, if you get better you can play against average etc. I know this from Gran Turismo, a car racing game, it works like a charm, you race people of comparable skill level.

Please WG, end this disturbing madness. Implement a skill based MM. Please.

I don't enjoy T10 at all anymore. There's no difference anymore between T5 and T10, the players are the same, but I expect new players and the simple mistakes at T5. Then you play T10 and you still see all these mistakes from T5 and below. The problem is just that even in a division you can't always carry those horrible T10 games anymore. The people dying to fast. My last match was decided after 5 minutes, because 5 were dead. More and more people from my clan start avoiding random battles, and that's really sad WG! 

 

And what pisses me of about that is, that there are masses of these players - throwing their T10 ship away in minutes, going back to the port and having a new match. While 11 other players are still in the old match and must deal with the consequences of this egoistic players for the next 10 minutes or more. "I play for fun" - I can't hear it anymore. Do I earn money while I'm playing or what? Is it my job? I play for fun also. But where is the fun of the 11 other players when their toptiers don't care about their actions in the match. But hey, at least this one guy had fun for 3 minutes right?
