really bad when in battle against a higher tier carrier my fighters cant kill his so in last battle I ended up with no planes so I would say with carriers they really do need to be same tier .

and yes I did try skirting around avoiding his planes like the plague but since he was higher tier he was faster I did manage to sink a ship  that was it then they capped game over  .

please just wait till it happens to you NO PLANES all shot down buy other players fighters so its 1 class less to play what are you thoughts guys .

so for me carriers are not worth the hassle going against higher tiers

The better alternative is to simply take out fighters. Simply bombers and torpers - lovely.

Or balance fighter so that 1 fighter wing will be destroyed by 2 fighter wings one tier lower.

I do go fighters where I can but against a higher tier you have no chance so the jap carriers not worth playing for me really not nice no planes left

I agree with you it would be nice to have a better balance in the MM for carriers. I had more or less the same issues although it was not happening all the time but enough to cause me to quite the game and come back the next day :teethhappy:.

A much higher AA range for every ship with less damage could help. I am thinking about ships creating a greater AA shield arround them as a fleet with very little gabs in between. This would help lower tier planes to have a hiding spot and also benefit a protective gameplay with planes.

So if a carrier player is outnumbered he could at least perform well with fleet protection and intercepting.

problem with this is if carrier players only get to face the same tier why cant all the other classes get the same treatment?

the problem is not the mm its the awful jump between how good fighters are between carrier tiers and the sooner wg make em more equal the better

The problem is imo that you cant really have a balanced setup.
Its either  offensive with Torp focused Japs or defensive fighter oriented Yanks .......

Most games that you run as a IJN one, you are spending on the run and dodging. And more often then not if you manage to get to bomb a ship, your fighters get wiped on the return trip.

And most games in a US CV is wiping out 20-50 aircraft and hope you can get some divebombers not to miss a BB so you might get over 300 xp in a game .......

They should give US CV their flexiblity back and allow the 2 torpedo setups again for them aswell, but maybe balance the US cvs by giving them less reserves. Do keep the IJN smaller sqaudrons but give them more reserves.

That way you get a quality versus quantity battle between them. Kind of like Zergs versus Terrans.

The carriers as a whole need a full rework.

JP fighters all ways lose to US fighters even if there 1 level higher.

Trop bombers are all most useless with BB's turning like destroyers.

Divebombers are still all most 100% useless unless RNG god shines down on them.

JP carriers planes have to little HP and half the time you lose half or a whole squad per attack run.

JP Torp bombers bug out none stop and will not allow you to manual aim them.(not to be mixed up with cruiser skill panic effect)

I am sure the US suffer the same problems but not had enough games in them since patch to say for sure.

Hell i am sure the US have it worse given there more Divebomber based load out as its so fun to do a full head on run with a carrier/bb manual aim and oh wait NOTHING hit but the aim was dead on since the RNG was like nope do not pass go do not collect 200 damage.

Cant agree, consider following:

1. IJN Carriers Tier 4,5 and 6 (in basic module) have the nearly (if not exactly) the same attack - like the US counterparts.

2. IJN Carriers are much faster in take off times

3. IJN Carriers have a way more squadrons

You just have to use take offs and squadron number at your advantage!

I made fights against Bogues and Indipendence (2 IJN VS 2 US Carriers too), but mostly dont had the mentioned problems. Since the update i like (especially the IJN) Carriers very much and made a lot of very good fights.

I would suggest you to change your strategies, you simply cant fight like before..

Devs said it: US CVs are the kings of the skys, but you can take other equipments if you prefer it - even with 2 torp bombers!

I hope they wont make big changes on carrier balance, and wish you to find the right strategies for playing well with IJN Carries too :great:
