Yes, this seems repeatable. 23 times exactly. The crate (which seems to open.. differently) drops even if you sink more one 1 ship, fortunately. I'm not sure how much time I'd need to spend to complete the collection, but limiting it till the 9th of april (though afaics, this relates only to the missions) would require me to spend more time or I won't be able to complete it in time.
