I hate CVs.

I need to write an obligatory hate-for-cv thing to keep my sanity. I hate CVs.

I hate playing them because I'm terrible.
I hate playing against them because as a DD, it can spot me without putting itself at risk and for many of them just kill me at no cost.
I hate playing against them as a BB because if both teams played well, I'll end up against them well damaged and it will nuke me. Hell, I just played a Kongo game where a CV did five strikes from the moment I was in range, to the moment a dd killed it and I got zero hits in exchange (but well, it was stopped, so I guess it's much harder to hit an immobile target).
I hate CVs because they have weapons that don't have any range requirement.
I hate CVs because they can instantly switch the weapon they use and strike me with another one before the previous one has even hit (for example, forcing me to broadside or take torpedo hits while they bring rockets to light fires).  I hate CVs because they're a weapon that actively rewards lack of map awareness: drop battleships and do damage, focus dying ships and get krakens, and if someone gets the drop on you after minutes of intelligent play, instantly switch to it and kill it: flanking, not an option anymore.
I hate CVs because they can drop a Des Moines that holds a corridor and in three drops remove it... and yet, still have enough planes to influence the game.
I hate CVs because a big blob of ships that goes lemming seems to be, even a year after "the rework", the only really efficient solution to not die if it focuses you (not that it will win the game, though).
I hate CVs, because even more than British BBs staying J Line and being top players, they seem to reward the type of players no one wants to see on their side, and penalizes the ones playing tactically.

I hate CVs because they're better than DDs at spotting, better than DDs at topping, better than cruisers at setting fires, better than BBs at doing damage, and yet they stay back and take little risk.

I just hate CVs.

I hate CVs because they unbalance the game from the second you see them in. The few fun games I had with CVs meant I had a much, much better CV on my side. I hate CVs because people will do shenanigans like leave the queue to avoid them in Ranked, because they're so broken. I hate CVs because they make the game... not fun.

I hate CVs.

Now I feel a bit better. If you too, you hate CVs, you can always join my Hate-cv-party at the bar on the Hotspot volcano, where I drink Mojitos all day and weep for all the ships I lost to a CV ever.

Yes, you are special and therefore could not use the CV thread. We understand.

Welp, didn't think I'd have a use for one of these already, but:

It has no place in the CV thread, it's a hate poem. It should, really, be in the poem section, but since I couldn't find it I went to the Off-topic one.

Ah, I don't doubt it, but this one is mine, and I think it sounds pretty nice. I did hope for some rhymed responses, but I'm probably asking too much from the forum population.

Well. Until Submarines are Released. And Wargaming can use the Heavily Changed Meta in the Role of DDs to Justify Big Changes to CV Balancing without Admitting that their last Attempt was Rubbish.

We will not really See any Big Changes. Regardless of how many CV hate Topics and Complaints we get.

In WGs Eyes. Fixing a Balance which is going to be entirely Reworked after Submarine Release. is a waste of Time.

After all. WG Plans to basicly Release a Class. That will completely Shatter the General Roles in the Game.

Suddenly DDs will no longer be the Vanguard and Spotters that have to be Out Front. Spotting, Capping and Hunting BBs while staying in Stealth. But might end up Required in the Rearline to Escort BBs and Defend them against Submarines.

Submarines might actually take over the Spotter and BB Hunter Role. Having not only the Ability to Spot without being Detected. And Dissappearing when needed while throwing Toprs at BBs here and there. But when they get an Especially Promising Target they might even use the Pings which might reveal their rough Location but which will also make their Torps Homing and Possibly Ignoring Torpedo Bulge.

Cruisers as well might Suffer quite the Meta Change. Because Radar and Hydro are much less useful against Subs. And their current Role of Forward Area Control and Threatening DDs. Might entirely Dissappear. Because Sitting behind an Island might end up with you suddenly getting Devstriked by a Submarine Torping you in the Rear. Which you cant really do anything about. Because Radar and Hydro wont pick it up unless its on the Surface. And even if you might find it for a Short moment. It can just Dive. And as a Cruiser you cant exactly just drive out and show Broadside to the Enemy Team to Hunt the Sub.

Big Bowtanking BBs like Kremlin and Yamato might also be very fast to Notice that Change. Because a Yamato Standing somewhere is an Extremely easy Target for Homing Pings. And if a Sub gets to it. Which nobody can Prevent currently.

It might end up suddenly eating 2 or even 3 Double Torp Spreads into its Citadel for 20-30k of Damage that can Barely be Repaired back up. Because a Sub sitting 6km in its Side not only had absolutely no Challenge in doing Ping after Ping on the BB. But also. Accelerating Fast enough to get away from the Torps when you were Stationary in a BB would be next to Impossible even from Normal Torps. Let alone Homing Torps...

Long Story Short.

Till Subs are Released. CVs will not get any Major Changes.

Once Subs are Released. WG will Change CVs tremendously.

I quite agree with your analysis, but it's not really a rant against CVs. It's a poem. Maybe I should have kept to the Alexandrine form...

It's a poem.

It's April 1st. Like hell we're going to believe that excuse.

This is just the usual "wahhhhhh remove CVs" post we get all the time.

Hence:

Yes, I see you are a man of culture and intellect.
By the way, remove CVs is a good idea. Not a novel idea by any stretch of imagination, but at least one that would help players have more fun. It wasn't quite the subject of the post, but you obviously aren't intellectually capable enough to analyze a well written text and recognize it as such. Here's another just about you, not that I expect you to find out why.

In a world of ships and potatoes

Does a tree that fall make noise or hurt your toes?

Incredible as may seem, I doubt you get the point

Over time you might still find your way in this joint....

Tread lightly, poor poster or you'll wake the writer

Already he's roused and his sleep is lighter

Never before had he enjoyed such company

Dreadful lout, mindless jests, sounds like a bumblebee

Does it ever matter? Only if you so wish

Unique they think they are, when they're wise as a fish!

Maybe they'll grow wiser and may they make their mark

Because at the moment they're more cod than they're shark.

no, the carriers are not the problem: they just balance the game. As an example: I myself face real difficulties to take out some destroyer with my Enterprise (= gold ship), carriers are meant to balance the game (= not ever be any ship on top of wows food-chain, understand what i mean to teach here). Next we go get the the great submarines (love it) but never ever 1x ship on top of "food chain". Anyway, this is how i see it. WG doing great job for this immense great game (nothing compares to it), so, see it all with helicopter-view! This game is immense great, getting graeter each month passing, be happy! (I am!) bye Yaskara XX (...and i am player, just as you are, I have no ties with wg or any, i am a solo individual. just as you are) I wish you fun & happyness, this game is very great! bye, yr companion player, Yaskara XX

I'm reserving my opinion on that, but it's really not the point of the thread. I just hate them and wrote a little alliterative poem. Then I proceeded to lose a dozen games in IJN CVs just because I suck in them, which makes me hate them even more.
