Alpha players

How many are still about? and 2nd do you ever take the ole Alpha ship for a spin still?

 

Might have to dedicate a days play to it :D

I am curious of when you became an Alpha player. Were this advertised in gaming magazines or to WoT players only or how, likewise with Beta, I know there were some buy in there but how was that info advertised?. I guess Alpha participated in Beta if they wanted? Sadly many have ended, pity those Iwaki and Arkansas ship are not transferable for me as a collector I like these models.

Well I played in the alpha test during the open-alpha weekend at the very early development phase. So I do have an Iwaki and find it utterly OP, though fun. I scarecely play it but I gotta admit it's a fun ship.

I don't even remember how I heard about the Alpha but it was a good long time ago now when I joined up in early Alpha.

I was not erly Alpha, i got in on the Weekend warrior event (think it was advertised on FB at the time), then got invited to stay on as a Alpha (seems soo long ago now) still remeber firing them guns for the first time and thinking OMG this is epic, also remeber my 2 team kills in a DD from 2nd line shooting lol, i was such a noob hehehe

I was a beta tester and got this through being in a clan in wot where one of our members was a alpha tester and he got some invite codes to hand out

I was beta tester because I was interested in the game. I knew about WoT but was interested in WoWs. One day I checked how it is going and spotted the "pay us a fortune, and you can play beta" button.

 

Guess what I did? :D

Still around. A bit bored of ships these days though.

The Iwaki hasn't been touched in years. 

Last time I took her out everyone just fired at me and nobody else….and she is a deto hell.

I was in the weekend test, played a large amount of battles but never got my Iwaki

Honestly, Iwaki is one of two ships i regret to have missed out on.

I was in the WoWS beta - I was playing WoT at the time.

 

I don't recall if I tried to get into the WoWS alpha or not.    I think sometimes you could apply to partake but it was up to WG to decide who did or not.   It could have just been done on numbers or some other critera.

 

At one point I was a super tester on the EU server for WoT.   There were some leaks form the RU server so WG restricted supertesting to the RU server.   I'm sure there is some logic there somewhere.

Respect to all Alpha testers who are still playing wows in the menace of the changes this game went through since they started playing, your feedback made this gem awesome.

At some point they introduced those "early access" packs, and by buying them you could buy an access to CBT. They had three different ships iirc, Gremmy, Yuubari and ?? (Sims + called Pre-order packages)

Can't remember so well anymore lol.

 

So money was one option.

Sims was the other ship and that's how I got in the beta test by buying the three ships as I was always more interested  in ships over tanks .

So the TLDR it that originally those Pre-order packages didn't have CBT access included, but seems they added the CBT access a few days later.

You are not missing anything.

She used to special. But with all the new ships in the game she is just Speshul.

I missed out on Awaki alpha by about 3 games (weekend tester) needed i think it was 250 games to get ship..  Ark beta i still take out from time to time. love that ship

Only when there are no CVs surely?

 

There are very few ships out there with 'no AA'.

Been around since the Beta weekend and was playing WoT then primarily, got in touch through a fellow WoT player who arranged a code to get acces to WoWs.( Thnx @Eisenhowers)

Had apparently enough WoWs games(525) during that time to get the Arkansas Beta, having said that i did not play extensively.

It is a fun ship, still is but cv has made it a bit painful, which reminds me of my Kamikaze R in a way :)

 

Was apparently not possible for me to get a the Iwaki Alpha even being in the Beta weekend / Closed Beta Test phase with that amount of games.

 

"Iwaki Alpha was given as a gift to any Alpha tester or Beta Weekend player at the beginning of the Closed Beta Test who played at least 100 matches during Alpha."

its quite fun with with CV.. had a few games where i did not do much but farm compliments rom team.. Eamy CV stallked me hole game.. left rest of team alon so they got trounced.. used WSAD hacks to stay alive

i was an avid wot player ( since 2011) that played the wowplanes closed beta and then at the start of 2015 won a contest for the closed alpha. Boy it was hard at the time: closed monitor NDA, you have to give them your ID, servers opened only in certain ours. It was also a funnier time and when the game was a bit more grounded in reality ( just a bit though)
