This is more for the newly started destroyer users, but goes for everyone and is not ment to be taken as an insult or as an atack on DD players, but more of a reminder.

PLEASE think a little before you launch torps at a target that is 8km or more away and is in close brawl with one of your teammates. Its hard enough avoiding enemy torps but when you have to dodge those sometimes hard to see white triangles and perhaps giving the enemy BB a free reighn of the fight when you have to turn away to dodge torps is not a wery nice experience.

So please if you see a frendly moving in to atack someone dont launch your torps in his way, since it might get him killed and the enemy ship might end up surviving.

I know, i have been playing since CBT started but during the last few days i have been seeing some realy ''interesting'' things from DD players. I know its only a small part of them that does this and it can often happen by accidents. But loosing a game because you had to dodge 3-4 salvos of torps realy puts you in a bad mood.

Sadly, I don't think the people who play like this are the people who come here to the forums and read.

"CV players can you please..."

"BB players can you please..."

"CA players can you please..."

"DD players can you please..."

THIS is the unfortunately oh-so-true answer to all these. +1

Maybe they should make Co-Op battles last longer, because i've only encountered these with fresh captains that have not much idea how to play =X

Well its come to the point where im ahead of a DD and drop my torps on a CA to herd him into the DD's path.

Then somehow this DD guy manages to stear from a clear path and straight into my torps.

I meen.. Playing DD gives you the most freedom of attack from all ships available and still these people manage to do dumb things.

Well unfortunately as in WoT you get players who just dont have a clue what they are meant to be doing in there class of ship, I`ve seen so many DD playing from the back i don't know whether to laugh or cry. Yesterday i had a DD shadowing me in my pepsicola "For the love god why????" then he started sailing rings around me. On the plus side least he took all the shots that where meant for me :)

It is an unfortunate truth. But this is somethings that all games suffer from, especially multiplayer ones. There will allways be those who don't care much for what they do or don't take the game to serious or just don't truly understand what to do. All you can really do is offer advise on how they can improve and hope that they will take it to them. Of course when it comes to actual trolls who team kill for fun, well...

I get more often TK-ed in my DD by CA's with torpedo's then by DD's.

thats because CA players dont know much about torpedoes because they dont have enough games in destoryers and they dont go in the first line as destoryers do

A developer mentioned before CAs ahve torpedoes to defend theirselves in a close combat so those torps arent supposed to be working as a offensive weapon they are supposed to be used as defensive one but no one gives a crap about that

As only a small fraction of players actually read the forums and even a smaller number of them reads the topics about tactics, mechanics... (as we see that the various flame threads are much more popular read), we should rather suggest to WG devs to work on various "tips" to be displayed during queuing/loading screens (in the client language), additional training messages during coop battles...

they do that but people ignore those "tips"

So, I'm escorting an Omaha in my Wickes hunting an enemy CV in the top corner of a domination map,

we take out the CV and a CA but get intercepted by 3 other enemy reinforcements as we return to cap.

The Omaha puts up a valiant defence & I'm down to 450 ship points, on the way back I loose off 3 volleys of torps

to deter any followers, I know they are 9k out and know they wont reach, but it was a threat deterrent.

Of course there was a dead team member who then tells me in no uncertain terms those were wasted shots and i should learn to play.

So I make it back to the enemy cap, pop smoke and shelter on the opp side of the island and win the match.

I have had friendly torps fired from behind, but he did see his error and warned me accordingly.

With the amount of new players with less than 500 battles I can see there is an advantage of experience and situational

awareness that is only learnt and should not be expected as given, remember its only a game.

Unfortunately sometimes the torps are already launched and they see you seconds after launching in most cases. I have accidentally sank a full HP friendly today by accident and apologised throughout the game deeply regretted that. He never made any effort to evade but the fault is mine. Hopefully in a future update torpedoes will not damage friendly though do not know how they are going to do that.

I think it's just part of the problem. Yeah of course some DD captain won't go on the first line, but why?

When you see that DD have no armour, almost no HP while BB stay so far in the back that they can't even provide accurate fire support... I can understand why some of the DD captain prefer firing torpedo without being spoted meaning firng from the second line.

But hopefully US BB need to be closer so this may change a little bit.

I was sunk today by a Kitakami launching torps all over the cap in Domination mode. THe best thing was that the nearest enemy was 10 km away from my location, so perhaps 12-15km away from him. I don't tink he noticed what he'd done, because no comment or apology was offered.

So not just newbie DD captains doing this stuff :P

I wonder how many of these captains have actually sailed a DD into an area first and have been focused down when their CAs have turned tail and their BBs are sitting with the CVs, 600km away from the action.

DDs are fast, but we can't dodge focused fire from multiple sources.

I will always fire my torpedoes from near maximum range in my Japanese destroyers but then again as a destroyer you need to position yourself between the enemy and your ships.

You have good camo so use it and get closer.

yeah, ijn DDs are exellent at spotting while they themselfs are not spotted yet....and the torp range gives you some options to deny enemy advances if fired at the right time.... and agreed, DDs shouldnt be behind their own team.
