T X DD Lapland?

Apparently its a new version of Småland during last testing.

It is a Halland with new Pan European captain. It is for testing captain not the new premium ship.

Halland and Småland were originally intended to have at least two more sisters, in a sort of sub-class or second flight with some minor improvements (57mm turret replaced with a 40mm twin mount for weight/cost/manpower reasons, improved fire control suite, one of the anti-submarine rocket launchers removed, some other minor stuff). Those two ships were going to be named Lappland and Värmland. The Halland class ships were expensive though, the navy really wanted four new destroyers but didn't have the budget for them, so in the end Lappland and Värmland were cancelled in 1958 and the navy ended up going with four ships of the cheaper but much less sophisticated Östergötland class instead (basically an Öland class hull with the Öland class guns with a bunch of improvements slapped on it).

 

So, that's the reason that while Halland and Småland were the largest and most powerful destroyers ever built for the Swedish navy, they were not the last (that honor went to the Östergötlands instead), and it is also the reason why we have an older ship above a newer one in the tech tree.

Halland and Smaland would be enough i think. European Tree already got Two Tier X destroyer from the beginnig.

USA get Somers not for long ago. Japan will get her second Tier X in few updates. ( Hayate )

With Lapland European Tree will get 3 Tier X Destroyer. Which i dont want to see at least for now.

It is the test version of a test ship :D

It is just there to test the new "legendary" EU captain.

Because there are speshul captains that you can put in test ships.

They needed to create a new ship just to test the captain.

 

They sometimes do that, to test different stats too.. like stalingrad 1 and 2

or that ship testing for different stats of henri while henri was in testing.. can't remember the name though.

Imagine tying speschul captain to, I dunno, existing tier 1 loliboat instead copypasting T10 ship.

There's all manner of fun in that tree. I quite fancy the Chilean Almirante class DDs. They ended up with Vickers 4 inch guns capable of firing every 1.2 seconds.

Yeah definitely some interesting concepts for tier 9/10 DD's in there. 

The problem is getting from tier 6 to tier 8 without using loan ships.

I think it was a supertester that said something along the lines of it being one of the T10 ships but used for the purpose of testing the new Legendary captain Jerzy Scherzy or whats his name. But in the pictures it looks like a copy-paste of Halland pretty much. 

 

Anyone else a bit disappointed over the Three crowns cammo?

Oh snap! I apparently had checked of the Decorative special ships in the settings because im so tired of seeing those Halloween ships in the game and that apparently gave my lovely Swedish ships this shitty cammo.
