I am just glad that WG saved the face of Comrade Putin, and was able to construct some effective RU CVs that shoots bombs that jump on water from some napkins (what the napkins were used for before becoming stronk soviet design is still a mistery).

The Kuznetsov embarrassed Moscow in late 2016, when it was deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean to support Russia’s intervention in the Syrian civil war. As usual, the carrier had to be accompanied by tug boats in case of mechanical problems. The vessel is not nuclear powered, and a faulty engine resulted in the Kuznetsov spewing a thick, black column of oil smoke as it rounded the European peninsula. Moreover, during the course of the mission, several naval jets ended up crashing into the sea (see EDM, October 27, 2016November 15, 2016). Last year, the floating drydock that was to be used to refit it sank, damaging the ship. And Russian yards, which have not built an aircraft carrier in decades, are too small to handle the job (see EDM, November 1, 2018). Indeed, one Russian official suggested that a new aircraft carrier ought to be constructed in three different places and then assembled at sea. And now, Russian naval ship builders have, in effect, admitted defeat: the country is unlikely to see a new aircraft carrier (the largest, most complicated and potentially most innovative naval vessel at sea today) any time soon.

That they can't now, doesn't mean that they couldn't during ww2. :Smile_smile:After all imperialistic USA can't go to the moon nowadays but they went there 60 years ago. Soviet Russia had the best, most powerful warships during ww2. Every Russian child playing this game knows it.

At least in Stalin's wet dreams. :Smile_trollface:

First game of the day a 4 CV battle, one T8 and T6 on a 8 ships team. Thanks WG for the fun and engaging atmosphere.

Can you please stop giving preference in the MM for CVs??

I dunno what preference that T6 CV got then, quite sure he'd rather have a T5 MM... :Smile_trollface:

I bet he lost credits there, when you have a T6 CV and you get T8 it is quite a tough life.
Also, then you get a T8 CV which means there aren't any targets to farm. Maybe look at stuff less one-sided?

Because that T6 CV probably has the same "fun and engaging" complaint that you have.

No, sorry, a battle with less surface ships and more CVs is no needed. I don't care about the cv drivers, they had their fun, more than the rest.

I'm just saying, that T6 CV driver probably agrees to that.

Which is obvious. They still have, as CVs are broken, and some are OP as well.

Most likely not.

He will though. The T8 CV is probably smacking the targets that he wants to take, and doing it faster than he can.
As in, when you are in a New Mex and there are two BBs - and the other is a T8. You know he is competing for targets.

He will probably blap the red T6, and not you. There goes your score. Also, you do not want to meet the red T8....

Double CV is also quite crud if you are the low-tier one. He'll not like it much either.

But I can understand that you do not feel any pity for them. :Smile_teethhappy:

Taken from recent  propaganda broadcast.

Relative damage dealt

:image.thumb.png.b89ef14557afa7bf09decdff9e1da5d4.png

This value is smaller for destroyers and cruisers than for Battleships and Aircraft Carriers since their tasks also include spotting and capturing points. However, smaller values are normal here and do not need to be equal for all classes.

Spotting damage:

WG logic in a nutshell:Smile_facepalm:

Clearly some form of miscommunication.

Well that happend today. Me and my divvy were faildivving or T4 DD/BB with a T5 DD and got a T7 game.

With two T6 CVs each side. We managed to kill their CVs though... but it was wonderful. :Smile_trollface:

So your T4 DD and BB and T5 DD did sink the enemy CVs? Like... only you?

Wow...

I would so love to see a replay of that battle...

This is nothing short of utter insanity.

True, but it is also a fact that clanmates that actually play that, are saying it is a campfest.

At such a campfest only the CV will spot anything. Everyone else that spots a ship, it will probably be the ship that kills him.

Also - that graph is beside the point. It doesn't matter who does the spotting "as such". It is more important to know who get spotted by who.

It is not surprising that the CV does most of the spotting, and if most of that spotting is a BB at 15km, well hell.

Yeah for sure the CV will spot a BB if that is the target he is on his way to, same as when CV is after a cruiser.

But it does show what is wrong (as many that play CV have said many times): spotting by CV needs to be fixed.

That spotting damage is done by the team, as a result of the CV spotting for them all

All that spotting is a major if not the major factor in the matches becoming a campfest in the first place.

That graph is a Smokensk farming everything from his smoke. That graph is the backline Thunderer saving his star. That graph is an interesting and exciting plan foiled before the match starts, that graph is a clever game winning maneuver messed up and punished, that graph is a pushing ship caught and farmed to death. That graph is overextending that starts with the first 'w' and that graph is the difference between a master and a potato squashed into minimum and that graph is a beautiful tactical game stripped down to a mindless clickfest.

That graph is just about everything wrong with this game in a one neat bar of blue misery.

Destroyers are perfectly able to spot ftom safely without being killed (a few radar ships like Mino and Chapa only can retaliate). But in CV game even going for spotting with DD becomes risky with fast planes exposing you at the worst moment. That's why games are campfest. This plus overmatch.

I dont see whats wrong with that graph. Obviously a class designed with planes will spot more than any other class?

It's like complaining about sniper classes/roles in other games getting off the most amount of long range shots.

Yes, and it is usually not the CV that kills the DD. Same in other cases.

And that is what is wrong - CV should spot more for themselves and less for others.

IMO everything that is spotted by the CV, should only be visible for "those at risk", not "those that can reach it".

AKA if the CV spots a DD (with 15km range) then the spotting should be 15km wide (like "gun bloom").

A BB or cruiser that has 18km (or more) shooting range should not be able to see that DD, only minimap.

So if you want to shoot that DD, you can be shot by that DD in return.

But we all know, WeeGee will not do it.

It is obvious. It is also obvious that other classes have either high damage numbers with limited means of spotting for themselves (like BBs) or low damage in a trade for spotting for the team (like DDs).

But apparently one class can have both at the top level, all from safe position at map border or behind the island and that's why people "love" CVs so much and rework is such a success.

The problem is that CVs, besides dealing as much damage as the best of them,

also seem to be "responsible"or key element for most of the damage that is dealt by the rest.

Unless one of the CVs is a potato that goes for blind attacking without spotting...

Skill gap, y'know...

The reason why WedGie gave us the CV Reeeeework... so that Skill Gap wouldn't so much anymore... and failed, as now skill gap matters more than before the Reeework.

But You know all that and here just to... well... argue for the sake of arguing... and that's okay... at least you do it in a civil and kinda like friendly way :cap_like:

Well, maybe both teams have the same complaint then (most likely).

And let's face it, the spotting is useless for the CV player as well.

I cannot count the times that I dropped the last set of torps, and then the ship got "kill secured".

It will not hurt the CV at all if spotting is a bit lessened. Might even be good for own damage output.

I think my damage number in Ark Royal will benefit a lot.

CVs will spot less for the teams then. Means DDs will be more usefull. Which is good, IMO.

sorry but it was pointed out over the years many times that even potato cv players are a problem because even though they dont kill they still spot. You guys are contradicting each other on the fly just to suit your points. Its hard to take you serious

Good CV players - know where to spot due to minimap awareness

Potato CV players - spot during their failed attempts to do manage

Guess which ones do more for their team?
