I doubt that, they did something like that in War Thunder, mostly 2nd WW ships and then they added on modern patrol boat with a mini-gun. That thing could deleted destroyers, but was a boat.

But I think they nerfed it hard, haven't seen them often lately.

Sure. Would you welcome it into WoWs? Would it game gameplay richer? possibly, but also possibly not...

To Wargaming:

 

is there any tweak coming to the CV Rocket-planes Strafe changes, since at this moment, hitting a DD is a gessing game where he will be in 5 seconds ?

CV s are helpless against a DD attack now, with no change ever of surviving.

 

I would suggest making a compromise ! Half the 'strafe' time and that would make it fair for both parties again ! 

THX alot.

Lasted 6 minutes.

Not playing during prime time, when there might be not enough players in the queue means Matchmaker will ditch any and all limiting rules just to push players into battle ASAP.

 

Which, as seen, can result in 9v9 2x CV random game

Halving the strafe time would quite literally make most rockets impact faster than they did prior to the change.

Dear Hank, 

 

How about the ship that can hide as far from the frontlines as it wants. Can scout anywhere in a trivial amount of time and has a vast amont of time where "carrier spotted" symbol shows - actually has the vague possibility to die from failing to take note of all the warnings it gets...

Torp them or bomb them. Works fine. Last week I killed 2 DDs by torps, and one almost (got KS by teammate).

The enemy had 3 DDs, all dead in 5 minutes. And if you get attacked by a Dd when in a CV, you are doing it wrong,

or your team sucks so bad you'll be happy to be back in port a bit sooner anyway. :Smile_trollface:

Get rid of them altogether. I'd happily exchange them for ASW bombs when the subs come.

Get rid of them altogether. I'd happily exchange them for ASW bombs when the subs come.

I’ve been surprised recently at just how good FDR torps are against the slower DDs. Aim to make them turn away from them and they are locked in one direction.

 

Your team mates might shoot them or you can even cross torp them.

Well, good luck on that with the "loitering time". You CAN manage but usually not really. 

What you can do is drop them when they go in smoke, or when they are close to an island so they cannot turn. 

What I try sometimes is to drop them when they turn and try to run away from something. 

Then they either eat a torp, or they have to return the way they came (which is usually into our cruisers...).

And what you can do, if you see one going into a cap - "my torps say you are NOT going that direction".

The point of course is that you are not doing this in a vacuum.

 

Try this against a Marceau who has no other ships with him and he will laugh at you.

 

Catch a shima, spotting him for your DD who is then shooting as you then lock him on course with torps and it works beautifully.

So how do I, someone who has only just now decided to grind his first CV line since the rework have next to no problems using rockets? This is a definitely a "you" problem.

 

Or maybe, try not using anti capital rockets on DDs.

Well I'm afraid I'd have to agree.  Their game style and pace is obviously designed to appeal to a younger demographic who wants instant gratification and offer the player a level of impunity granted by no other ship in the game.

 

Players can't learn how to use terrain or concealmet properly because a carrier negates those game mechanics entirely.  This is especially apparent at lower tier where players are supposedly learning how the game works only to have their attempts frustated by being placed in double carrier matches where their own ships have no AA to speak of.

 

The Carrier continually dominates and overshadows matches to such a degree that it degrades the individual roles of other ships by its presence.  This is no good for anybody.

 

In other words; Yes, they are sucking the soul out of the game and offer no fun to anyone but carrier player themself.

 

This is why this subject is always pinned at the top of the forums and people inevitably pipe up and say "Nice, no CV's" or "Oh No, Double CV" when chatting in the game.
