As far as i remember people have always hated aircraft carriers. Player base never changes. IMHO this game without CVs will be boring like a middle age dance party.

Well we might as well discuss what cv branches will be coming next, i predict in this order, France-Russia-2nd US line-Italy-2nd Japanese line-Pan Euro.

Oh and what CV's we can expect at tier 12 (due to missing out odd numbers) if weegee ever decides to go beyond the tier 10 concept.

With CVs maxing out at 5% (popularity) I can't see how they can justify further investment.

The current T10's that were actually built, were the last carriers before the jet era (with jets being added later). The next carriers, whether built or only designed, were supercarriers with hook decks, designed to use jet aircraft.

Now, if WG decides to go into the jet era, there are only a few ships that I can think of. The USS United States was primarly designed to nuke Soviet naval bases, the ship that looks more closely to a traditional fleet carrier role (and since it was actually built would have my preference) would be the Forrestal-class. Now, these were true supercarriers, with a big capacity of up to 100 aircraft. The only other fleet carriers that I can think of (without going to the end of the Cold War) are the Audacious-class (Ark Royal with her angled deck, Phantoms and Buccaneers) and the CVA-01 project, which fell victim to budget cuts. Both these carriers could handle less than half of what Forrestal was capable of IIRC. France could use the Clemenceau I guess, with even less planes. For every other nation I think that WG has to come up with more fictional stuff.

• Tier VIII British aircraft carrier Implacable, Changes to bomb characteristics: , Maximum damage increased from 4,900 to 5,100., Chances of setting a target on fire increased from 28% to 29%.

• Fixed an issue that caused the torpedo range of VIII August von Parseval's aircraft on the Minimap to not correspond with the technical specifications.

•  X Werner Voss—a X Manfred von Richthofen analog with her torpedo bombers switched for skip bombers carrying HE bombs. The special feature of these bombers is their new method of attacking targets. Aircraft descend to low altitude and drop their bombs. The bombs can bounce off the water several times before hitting the target.

  Hybrid ships VIII Tone and VI Ise—representatives of a separate group of battleships and cruisers—have been added for testing. Their main feature is the possibility to launch an aircraft squadron. Three versions of each ship have been added. They differ by the types of aircraft they carry: Tone and Ise carry torpedo bombers, VIII Tone 2 and VI Ise 2 carry dive bombers with HE bombs, and VIII Tone 3 and VI Ise 3 carry attack aircraft.

• Fixed an issue that caused incorrect icons to be displayed for spotting aircraft and fighters on the Minimap.
• Fixed an issue that caused German aircraft to slow down for too long when Engine Boost was used, and also to return to their cruising speed too quickly.
• Fixed an issue that caused aircraft to take too much time to gain the required altitude to return to the aircraft carrier, due to which they received too much damage.
• Fixed an issue that caused rockets and bombs to miss the reticle when an attack was carried out during the course of gaining altitude.

For britain maybe the colossus or centaur for tier 12.

Guess for other nations could just be bigger and/or more advanced tier 10 versions of what they might have built if they went ahead with them.

Hello;

 

I were not here, re-returned some time later and found that CV management totally changed. Well, before I left we were have two options; 1-attack with your planes manually or 2-let pilots do their job while keeping eye on the map and give tactical advices to your comrades. Now we don't even have any option but play with our single plane like a pilot (instead of as an Admiral).

 

You look happy with new style. Actually I always thought CVs were more like commanding tingy, like a flagship and to coordinate their forces instead of actually fighting. It is a shame imho.

 

Don't get me wrong I already sold my CVs, I'm just surprised.
