Hi,

 

The Tirp was one of my first ships and I loved it. I now have close to 200 ships and I have rarely played it until a week ago. I shot 7 citadels in 4 different ship and long-range too. I think the German gun buff has a VERY positive impact on the Tirp guns. I play it once every day now and it's so fun to play, it now packs a punch close and longer range....

Wait...you're using your mainguns on your Tirpitz? 

Then you're doing it wrong mate, get into Torp range and shove fish down their thoats like everyone does.

What's next? Actually using Hydro on Bismarck? Pffft.

lol... just did both... several cita's on 16k range... and 4 torps in a Colorado I jumped from behind the rocks. He has to turn cause my guns hurt... and once he turns in... torp meat!!!

It used to quite an OP ship but then so many other ships passed it, but with the German gun buff... it is really really nice to play again!

Oh please, Tirpitz was never OP. Not even when she was first added to the game.

HOnestly, i still belive that on a BB it's not worth to got for a Secondary build if you have to trade accuracy, as the main offense mean of a BB is the Main Battery; the only battleships that i think it's worth to go for a secondary build are Massa, Georgia and Ohio, as you don't trade accuracy.

True. The reason she was 'stronger' in the beginning was, that nobody knew how to deal with it. 

Today, Tirpitz and Bismarck are the easiest Targets to deal with. 

 

Besides, no german ship will ever be OP in this game, the law prohibits it. 

Paragraph 1 of WGs balans spreadshiet law clearly states: '...if it turns out, that a german ship is decently balanced to its peers, it needs to be nerfed immediately. Furthermore, to keep the balans, a russian ship has to be buffed in its place...'.

I think it was, what did it all have:

- You can't citadel it close range (nickname the finger, just lay straight and nothing hurts you) - Turtleback armour

- Torps (quite devastating ones)

- Secondaries that hurt (out do the Massa damage wise) 11.3km

- it's fast

- Sleek built, easy to go in between torps - islands

- good fire chance on your main guns

- range

- Good concealment

 

AA is not the best but the only thing that was not good was that it long-range sucked. But now long range it's also very effective! If it was not OP in her time, what tier 8 outclassed the Tirpitz when it arrived?

 

(remember the 1 on 1 ranked? Everyone played Tirp. And for a good reason, close-range combat: secondaries, torps, cant citadel it!)

well it has Torpedo Lookout System, i guess this is like a hydro torps 1.8 km detector. Playing a DD french perhaps it detects as a big fish.:Smile_unsure:

 

Is there a Modstation add-on which gives some information about the settings during battles?:fish_book:

Depends how you play... if your ship is a brawler like the Tirpitz or Kurfurst and the secondaries are 11.3-11.6km and they hurt. I have close to 1000 kills with secondaries.

T-61 still goes on to dominate T6 DD meta. Gnevny meanwhile still is straight up worse than Anshan, Fushun and Gremyashy.

Or you take a ship with very strong main battery and decimate ships beyond 11.6 km too.

Don't forget the good concealment.. by the time you spot the Tirpitz, you are with seconds of secondary range. Long-range a BB can always disengage by not shooting or you are dependent of an ally spotting.

  • torps have 6km range
  • secondaries had less range back than
  • quite standard for Tier VIII
  • ?

If you invest in CE. Which means most of your secondaries pen 25 mm tops. Back in the day, most didn't pen crap.

I agree that the dispersion-buff made them somewhat relevant again. Last week I nuked a Izmail out of the water with the Bismarck with 5 citadels from 6km range, that would never be possible previously, not without sacrificing the right amount of goats.

It's the thing, that when you press a button (dunno which one tho), an annoying pinging noise starts and if you look closely on the mini map, it shows you the exact location, where your BB team mates lost their cohones, up to a depth of 20000 leagues under the sea. 

 

We can be happy that WG plans to introduce uboats, as those will be able to retrieve them as a mini game. 

Also, rumor has it, that WG plans to make them a new resource, so you can choose to keep them and exchange them for stuff, like a themed perma skin for your ships, flags with inscriptions '...i found your b*lls, and i'm gonna keep 'em...', '...CV players are BB mains who lost their b*lls...', and other useful stuff.

Reminds me of when i citadelled an angled moskva at around 10km away woth monarch and killed him (sod knows how i managed that).
