Additonal moral of the story: never backline torp. OP, the only time you can torp when there is an ally between you and your target, is when that ally is with you on voice comms and he's confirmed it's ok to torp. The only way to kill yourself (unless I miss something) is actually by reflected team damage through torps. Fires and floods are not set on friendly ships anymore as you mentioned. TK CV also died when he dropped from AP bombs our DM. Though floods from friendly torps are not set - the engine and rudder gets broken. Imho friendly fire should be working jest like friendly AA against planes - no effect.
