TL;DR

To get ABC for free:

Without London or Albemarle simply complete 20 out of 25 daily missions (400 tokens)

All the Directives (550 tokens)

All the Daily Shipments (50 tokens)

Ok so i have 2 choices from what i can see.

1) Take part in the event. Play on unbalanced teams against unbalanced ships whilst being annoyed by CV's in 7 minute roflstomp battles that are not fun whether i win or lose. In return i get a bad ship (my opinion) at tier 6 (a tier i don't play) that i will never use and some other rewards that are trash tier.

2) Continue playing other games for now and enjoying my free time.

Oh boy. That's a really tough one :cap_like:

You can expect the missions of the Directives to be more diverse than they have been in the past. Experienced players who have collected large numbers of ships in their Ports will have the opportunity to select the ideal ships for particular missions, and thus complete the Directives faster.

Why does that sound like the final directives of the PR event, directives without synergies, to me?

Great to have a captain specialized for dds or cvs. Since those are the ships I play the least, it will be very helpfull.

Been there, done that. No ship, just endless boxes with a skin and a couple flags. Rarely, some coal.
This game should have a warning: „contains gambling”. Although you would win more by playing roulette... Even the russian one ;)

Loot Box Festival

where do you read anything about loot boxes? Or do you mean the random bundles? Because in this case there is nothing to complain about imho, the only reason to buy those random bundles are the tokens, and no matter which bundle you will get, it will always give you the same amount of tokens, without any RNG... and of course you can get the needed tokens for the captain without much effort, as DanSilverwing has written...

Oh! an open bundle. It costs 48000 doublons 150 Euro. no flag for london. its in the logbook so you gonna be able to buy her with an admiralpack the same with Cheshire properbly. it doesn't seem so hard to get London and Cunningham. I have 220K ship xp on Albemarle so the b-version of drake will be there when released. Will make mr Jingles a 19 skill he is 15 now. I guess he'll be ready with Goliath. and for Cunnigham I saved 1.2 mil. cxp.

With the previous British cruiser directives I was able to complete all the directives through normal play in very little time; as the London is the only reward I'm really interested in here I'm hoping that will be the case again now but the references to 'diverse' directives and 'experienced players' being able to complete faster is a little ominous. Will have to wait and see exactly what they involve before committing to the grind, I suppose.

if they follow the PTS:

- 1 mission for each class tier 5+ (6+ for CV of course)

- 2 missions for general tier 5+

- 3 missions with "in one battle" and increasing tier, 5+ for 1. directive to 8+ for 4. directive

so 9 missions in total, with 4 needed to complete a directive...

As said before, im betting the missions will be somewhat hard t ocomplete so tyhat players will be induced to buy the boxes for tokens...

Who wants to bet against me?

@Klopirat
Close enough.

Another point that came up while reading the news again...

Those who where lucky with the lottery in 0.9.0 patch will get rewarded for their luck once more. Everyone else has to grind a T-VIII cruiser first or spend some cash. Why can't Wargaming realize that it would be best if all players are rewarded equally for equal effort? @MrConway

Albemarle is trully terrible. Paper armor, sluggish, no meaningful comnsumables and a very slow reload. Even Hipper eats this for breakfast. Missions with it will be a real chore.

Well as the RNG god only rewarded all my work in the current round with the Hawkins, I'm not going to spend any time worrying about rewards that need me to play the Albemarle.

A long time ago this game was fun and I would spend money on it every few months to make things go a little faster. Now I often just play enough to complete the first daily Mission and the first one or 2 containers and that is best done in Co-op mode. The rest of the game seems to totally depend on the right RNG outcome, having the right ship to start with and wishing to play for very long peirods of time.

Oh dear.

If you'd like me to explain my dismay WG, feel free to carry out the the following;

Please order 60 of my special emails, for only £10 each ... let's call them fruit boxes..... and there is a great chance the explanation may be in one of those.

If that doesn't work, you can always take part in a special mission that involves buying special 'time'....lets call it extremium time.... that will increase the chance of the explanation being in there to an overwhelming chance.

PS If you want me to define what 'great' and 'overwhelming' chances are...

....I'm not going to, so there. :Smile_hiding:

Fine with me. Will wait for the patch after this patch. Not interested in tier 6 and 8 prem ships. Have enough FXP and Creds to grind to tier X when ist gonna be available. Means, my pocket stays closed for this, aehm, event.

What makes you think that? To get cunningham you don't need either the Albemarle or the London, they will just save you some time. (as is usual with our events)

As long as you complete daily missions and directives, you will have enough tokens.

I'll first wanna see what the directives are like.

I'd need to grind the new line from the start if I wanna get the tier 8 here. The directives and bundles from the now current patch are also meant to reward players who invested money into the game, so they can get the tokens a bit easier.

I'm glad I can at least get some premium days and other rewards for the tokens since chances are I won't get enough tokens for the commander.

Personally I'm not even sure it is a tech tree or a premium ship, I was mostly reading the article for the way the token-rewarding is gonna be structured.

If I really wanted it, I could just spam some fxp :Smile-_tongue: (though I'd probably rather just play the ships as for me this is kinda what the point of the game kinda is).

But all things said, I still don't like the rng bit of the current event.

We are talking about 40 daily missions. That's not a small amount.

All the while can those who got lucky in the lottery not only get the captain more easy, if they grind the same amount of daily missions they get more reward in the end. For the same effort.

Reward not limited once but even twice to a lucky lottery draw is bad game design.
