hello, I don't know if it is the right place for this kind of thread. If not feel free to move to its proper category.

history facts, link

Legally ther is no problem for a clan to have a tag [1453]….

However this is unethical IMO.

I look forward for your opinions...

huh?

the fall of Constantinople...

if it's a Turkish clan, it's obviously an EVIL tag.

if it's a Greek clan, it's something along the lines of "remember the Alamo".

some people might say Greece is a very expensive member of the EU. For me, its membership is invaluable, worth every single cent of all these billions it embezzled.

lol

They should clearly change the tag to 1071 or 1204 then.

Seriously, if a date triggers you, then you might ask yourself if you are in a right place head wise.

This is why the world is totally screwed, because snowflakes take everything too seriously. Is a spear unethical or evil as used by our ancesters to hunt? Is a bow unethical or evil? Is a knife unethical or evil? Is a gun unethical or evil? I submit unto you fine people, and to you the jury, that these things are only at times used by evil people to commit evil acts, but in terms of their physical state of being, they are not evil in themselves.....

To the OP I say this, some people have tiny minds and find joy in silly things. They may like to try invoke a reaction, or even sometimes wear something questionable as a badge of honour to show people in some way they support certain ideals....All you can do is forgive them for being ignorant..and don't get so easily triggered...it's not impacting your life in any way is it, other than you letting yourself get triggered by something so obscure?

I see the principle you are referring to, but ethical values are not law until written into law so to speak. Ethics are also highly subjective and in this case, that number means nothing to me, though it does to you.

I for myself had to google the year to find out what you mean. But as this is a game about battles, warfare etc I do not share your opinion tbh.

Well, I agree to some extent... Imagine the crap storm that would happen if we had a clan named 09/11 :crab:

as i understand it, it's like if a german clan would go with a [1871] tag?

hmm.... imo let em be stupid and don't let em trigger u. to ban like every year in which something warlike happened within europe up to 1945 would end up in a ban of like ALL year tags b4 1945 lol. so, only solution to ur concern (if needed at all) would have to be a ban of year tags in general.

well, I guess after 500 years 9/11 will be seen differently.

look for example, the original Star Trek series is set 500 years into the future.

Man, I was raised fairly religious, so to me when I saw people with 666 in their name or as a clan tag I felt offended and even triggered at times. But any response from me was then just me being arrogant and self-righteous thinking everyone should adhere to my beliefs and principles. People are free to believe what they want, as long as they don't deliberately promote or enact hatred or break laws.

I mean, let's look at this all realistically, so what if they don't want to listen to reason and so what if they don't go to heaven with me....maybe they live in a cold climate and like the idea of warmth and roasty feelings forever, mwwahahhahahahaa...

I hereby suggest that we should all propose a list of numbers that should be banned for use inside the game. Feel free to add to the list.

Yes, indeed.

It is remarkable that nobody in Star Trek TOS even mentions 9/11 anymore... :Smile_sceptic:

I'm confused: are people really getting excitable about something that happened in the 15th Century?

For better or for worse the fall of Constantinople is/was an important moment in history, heralding in the definitive fall of the Byzantine Empire. There are worse thinbgs to be offended by these days but what do I know. I'm just a milenial from the 80's

There's always something worse to be offended by, but this is still pretty silly.
