Aka Thunderer

Spoiler

Ofc possible someone somewhere came up with same idea, but haven't seen others use that and the ones who do, got it from me.

Phoenix I like to call "[edited]" (which, btw, I'm already aware is blocked by the forum's auto-censor, so I'll just add in here that it's the correct biological term for male genitalia).

Baltimore I call "Baltimoo". Not for any particular reason.

Yuudachi is "Poi".

Belfast is "Belfap".

Asashio is:

I'm guessing if this works without the auto-censor I'll get a warning, but...

Asashio = assashole

Fubuki = fuckubuki

Occasionally I'll call Battleships "Bottlesheeps", why?

Because they think they're as fragile as glass and herd around the edge of the map.

Leaving aside the obvious ones given by many people, some personal nicknames of mine for ships are:

  • Nelson: Nelsinha Peché (both homage to Nelson Piquet and the AL captain assets).
  • Richelieu: Ricardito (Little Richard).
  • Bismarck: Luisma (short for Luis Manuel, i.e. Louis Emmanuel, and also the name of a character in a Spanish series).
  • FdG: Federrico (Friedrich in Spanish is Federico. I switch to a rolling R -hence doubling it when written-  imitating how a certain waiter nearby says "rico" -Spanish for rich or tasty-).
  • Khabarovsk: Cabra loca (lit. "mad goat"). This one is shared by many Spanish players.
  • Ognevoi: Hoy no voy (lit. "I don't go today").
  • ARP Takao: Lady Takao, or simply Lady (I can't remember why I started saying it, but it was around the time I got a torpedo Kraken with her).
  • Musashi: Mushasho ("muchacho" means boy or young man in Spanish, but then in some areas the CH sound is pronounced like SH, which gets closer to the original name). Also shared by many Spaniards.

Salute.

Some more

belfast-payfast pre AL, payfap post AL

furutaka-furious taco

Khabarovsk— kebab

yamato- tomato

shokaku-shokek

Conqueror—conkek

smolensk—small leek

Benham—freedom shima/torpham

anyway if a potato is playing a certain boat a “derp” prefix is generally added to or replaces part of a ship’s name for me, probably due to the original, deprtiz

eg. Derpmato, derpmagi, derpunderer, derpmark, derp memes are some of the examples. Certain ships have Specialised name for potato ness, eg a 40% mino would be minotard.

Smolensk - SKUM-ensk (both as a nod to drivers of this ship being the lowest of the low, and an homage to the movie of the same name)

Kamekaze - Kan-o-crap-ee (as in, it's an OP Kan, which will open a can of crap on you)

Yamato - Camper-to (I rarely see one of these in motion)

Minotaur - Minnow-tour (as in, the small, pointless fish)

Des Moines - Denied (I hate these ships with a passion, and, when sinking one, always declare "denied!" When I end their firestarting, camping antics)

Shimakaze - S**t the Kaze (A "Kaze" or "Khazee" is UK slang for a toilet)

Nelson - NelSOL (both as a homage to it's actual WW2 nickname, thanks to it's resemblance to an RN Oiling ship, which all had names ending in "ol", and the fact that it's always on fire)

Warspite - Warspider (It's actual WW2 nickname, along with others)

Okhotnik - Oh f**k nick (for it's annoying tendency to pop up and torp things at close range)

I just remembered my nickname for my favourite CVL:

RJ for Ryuujou - it's a lot easier to pronounce!

Nelson: 'Front-Towards-Enemy' (as the main armament layout brings to my mind the warning they put on Claymore mines)

Mikasa: 'Su Casa' (because, of course, mi casa es su casa)

London: 'Pea-Souper' (because of the smog smoke generator)

Georgia: yolo boat, boat of yolo, The incarnation of yolo

well that is what I find Georgias do all the time, 50% it works for some reason, so I took the obj 568(the tank destroyer with 130mm and 250mm front armor)nickname, the yolo wagon, and applied to geogia as well, since you can also yolo the obj and still have a reasonable chance of doing well.

neptune: top nep.
