So we completed the grind while spending no money on it.

 

 

This grind has been the most intense grind I have done in any game. It has also been the most unfun grind I have ever done in a game. As per hours; 180 or more, I stopped counting around 157hrs.

 

Originally I was not gonna even make the attempt because well I was upset about how obvious this whole event was as a cash grab, but I'm a stubborn one and never wish to concede defeat to anyone.

 

In the future wargaming can we please look at a calendar and be less punishing when designing these events. 

 

Truth be told I would probably be less upset if the ship was better. Like Stalingrad level of awesome rather then what it is. Personally I think the PR should have been a coal ship with the Smolensk being a grind ship, but what do I know.

Ummm 77 others have unlocked this on the EU.

 

Fact is I was lucky to save up a bunch of signals without that i would still be grinding. It was not easy it was meant to be hard to force players to spend money if they wanted this sub-par ship.

I see your point, however, I do not agree with it. Wg got a ton of heat for this and when I was looking at all the directives I knew it could be done, but it would be a nightmare for a majority of the community. I don't mind grind events. I do mind that lack of compassion and inability to check to see if an event directive starts of a family holiday like Christmas. Just because I choose to not play money for the PR doesn't mean Im encouraging WG to do anything. If history tells us anything WG doesn't listen to or pay attention to the Players concerns or needs so my contribution means very little in the grand scheme. Plus I saw it as a challenge and I love a challenge.

Focus on easy to complete stuff. For 7 I found a minor synergy I could use. I just did the UK/IT CA xp, UK/USN bb xp, UK/PA dd xp grinds. The Credit grind came as I did the others and then the last one the preparing for the next year 1.1 million grind was almost completed by doing the other xp grinds and I only had 50k to complete. My suggestion is to use your signals and camos. If you got 125-400%xp camos USE THEM. Any xp signals USE THEM. Get premium.

 

It is important to play smart too. Focus damage on DDS and cruisers and take caps when you can even in bbs and CAs This will tend to give you a higher base xp and thus a greater return for time invested.

 

Edit last piece of advice. Try to play the highest level of the ships you need to play. This tends to have a higher payout in terms of xp generation.

as you can see I have a ton of 10's and 9's

 

 

Beyond that coffee...LOTS AND LOTS OF COFFEE.

PEV campaign was fun, the ship is Meh, but all in all I'm ok with the ship and I even take it out from times to times.

thats not including the hours of co op farming I did for the base xp...Yes Co op. Figure every game is about 15-20 minutes long that 3- 4 games max in random. In Co-op you can push 12-14 games in the same times and as long as you know how base xp is calculated and how to farm that you can easily push 450-700 per game or 5k-8k+ per hour wherein random you are kinda stuck at 6-7k per hour but you have to win to get that which doesn't happen thus you earn more consistent output in co-op for base XP. Im going to make a guide for how to grind future events.

Up to 600 minutes per day = up 10 hours of gameplay.

 

I finished D3 and I took almost a week to start playing again, today I made my first 6 random battles and already call it for today.

 

I only hope next Christmas there will not be a t10 or t9 ship as a reward ship.

I have killed so many PR now that if I was to rank it among other t10 Cruisers I would have to put it at 12. And that is a tie with Moskva.

But it was a joke.

 

In the PEV, the "Journey" was more rewarding that the reward itself, in simple terms was Fun and I was motivated to get the reward, a T6 ship.

- I played ships that I like

- I played ships that I was falling for/rediscovering

Such thing didn't happen with this event. I did it for the coal and mainly for the Special Flags, I was depleted after my Halloween grind for elite XP.

I started this event with like 47k elite xp im now at almost 900k elite xp and I spent some 400k on boosting captains up to 19.
