Premium ships you really shouldn't get ?

So uh I'm reaching  the end of ships I want to have but I was wondering. What ships are absolutely a waste of money to get. 

I have already/still have 

Cruisers:

Atago (+B), Azuma, Alaska (+B), Prinz Eugen, Duca delgi Abruzzi, Atlanta, Gorizia, Huanghe, Perth

 

Battleships:

Jean Bart, Vanguard, Roma, Alabama, Scharnhorst (+B), Prinz Eintel Friedrich, Dunkerque

 

Destroyers:

Friesland, Z-39, Sims B, Aigle, Anshan. 

 

Aircraft Carriers:

Graf Zeppelin (+B), Ark Royal 

 

(Note other premium ships that I have  not mentioned, but are on my player stats page have been sold for credits. Which I know is a sin)

IMO, anything in the following categories, assuming full price in real money:

• Classes/types that you don't enjoy playing (unless - maybe - you get one for missions).
• Anything below T5 (missions again).

That's about it really; I find there is fun to be had with almost any premium ship (given the right game mode); what does vary a lot is which are actively good value - I think most premiums are significantly over-priced (cue: "you could buy a AAA game for that!" type remarks), so actually 'good value' is rather harder.

 

Sales change the calculus as well - even something dreadful like Krispy Kreme is worth having for (very) cheap, even if it's only as a blocker, to prevent you getting it again from crates etc.

Nothing wrong with Atago, but would suggest just grind her in Tech tree.

Huanghe was one of the cheaper 8 euro offers I couldn't say no to. Sold it after a while. Got it back in the surprise lunar new year crates.

One premium ship noone should get, and the ones that have it should sell it the T3 Katori...... 

That way i'll be the only one to have it

Myoko? I have that ship unlocked one of the earlier tier seven ships I had due the boost from AL Camos. Its a good ship don't get me wrong, but the torp angles make not like it as much as Atago. Played a few matches with stock Mogami and idfk how to use it.

 you see I only got the ship for the tech tree line ships rewards and the camos. How ever the first part of mission 1 is more of a pain then playing Eintel against tier 8 bbs.

I think mine has been played once since the original event where I got it, and that was a single blast in Coop to knock the snowflake off.

 

Not an absolute waste of a slot though, as it stops me getting it again from crates!

I think it might be not as bad, if Jaguar wouldnt be basicly OP in comparision. So much Health and Kamikaze level of torps (except the reload), and in return you only get the reload booster + a meager 0,6 sec better basereload.

Siroco can screw other DDs like no tomorrow, but for everything else, Jaguar is better. And Jaguar usually gets the upperhand against DDs because of the HP advantage

It seems like I've underestimate the lower tier French dds when I got them.

This pretty much sums it up for me too.

Got it from completing the first 3 directives and boy was that a sailing dumpster.

Jaguar is a cracking little ship. As is Murmansk....

 

I wouldn't bother with Gorizia if you don't need it for event directives. Zara is good enough. The only normal Premium I regret buying is Yudachi. I would trade 3k torp range for 3kts more speed, every day of the week. And the ability is other players to run into torps with a 2.5k detection range is unbelievable.

The Gascogne ( FR BB ) keeps disappointing me, depite i read the LWM review before getting it so i was informed.  It does kinda do it's jobs but it is more like a SuperCruiser then a Battleship and as a SuperCruiser keeping it's distance  it's prominent featured foreward Secondaries do not act ( enough to make me happy  ) even with 10.1 km range.

 

The Monaghan ( US DD ) hybrid  i regret too......4 popguns with very hard to use high arc  "hang time" shells and impractical short range torpedo's OR only 2 of such popguns with longer range torpedo's.....in short whenever you run into enemy DD with 2 popguns and long range torps you get killed and in the other form 6 km torps with 4 popguns is often kinda kamikaze mission too as other DD are often still much more powerful. There are more types of BB stalker DD that always will lose against other DD but 2 popguns is the worst of them all, it might as well have no guns and it would not make a difference.  The 2 popgun long range torp is even challenging  to use in Operations against oblivious bots if you want a nice high XP/credit income.

 

The SAP firing IT cruiser premiums float in port unused as well, i especially dislike the T5. Contrary to the older HE firing IT premium Cruisers  that do very well in Ops and can do well in randoms. And speaking of T5, that french DD T5 floats uselessly in port too.....if not "earned" for  free i would not have them.

 

Is there gonna be a topic of what Premiums you unexpected really do like ? For me that is the Bayard Cruiser. It makes me like Cruisers while i am not a very skilled Cruiser player.

Gascogne was on the get list and since you say it's more like a supercruiser. Would you recommend it to a cruiser main or not?
