The tactical map is a useful tool in game, but it uses a large square of the Bottom right of the screen.

Is it possible to use the second screen (multi monitor) to have the tactical map ? It should be great…

Thanks for your great game !

  Best regards,

  Alexandre.

just for the record:

u can alternate its size with the "+" and "-" buttons on the numbersblock of ur keyboard. depending on screensize usually this is ngh to have that bit more of sight one needs.

By the time it's large enough for this old sea dog to see it covers about a quarter of the screen.

This is far beyond the programmer capabilities WG can afford I am afraid ... but it would be nice to have ...

Some kind of streaming output, maybe to a custom server only you can access, simaltaneously replay it on the other screen then focus in on the minimap, somebody more technical than me might be able to explain better (or have a better idea to start with).

OBS Studio is free, is it worth the effort, probably not unless you just want to play with the software.

I second this, i run 3 monitors and to have the minimap being enabled on another screen it would make a nice QoL improvement, i doubt it would take a massive amount of dev resources to make it happen :Smile_Default:

Should work, but you would still have to have the minimap active on the main screen.

But you could minimize it and zoom in harder (might affect quality of the image though).

I works using OBS, just output that corner of the screen to a second monitor, it will lose some resolution and I found it actually a little awkward to look at but it's very easy to do.

You select a clipped part of the screen, essentially the area of the minimap, and choose display 2.  It will still show on the main screen though.

its an interesting suggestion,

but no use to me. while i play the game my second monitor is reserved for youtube clips, music player, forum page, discord, teamspeak, and various gpu/cpu monitors

I have been craving this feature for all my 4 years of playing

please mr wargames, could you implement this useful feature?

i am thinking for example how it worked on ms fs2002:
right-click on the map, "detach window", then use the mouse to move the little window on the other screen

no need to bother with this as it is complicating stuff for newcomers ... more things to follow ... reduces fps ... etc ... etc

just remove the damned thing and everybody will be happy

you should request this on aslain's forums, maybe a modder will be interested in creating a standalone app that acts as a map display.

There is no need for doing something what could be already done by existing software ex. OBS Studio

1. Run Your game at full screen in window.

2. Enter training battle.

3. Run OBS Studio.

- add new video source: window capturing and choose World of Warships - name it ex. Word of Warships map

- right click on game screen preview and choose: display at full screen (preview)/choose desired monitor

- now press ALT and without releasing the ALT key, simply click on one of the corners of the marked box and move it, leaving only minimap on screen

- right click on game screen preview and choose: image transformation/image fit

Now Your capturing set up is completed and every time you will run OBS Studio, it will display minimap on second monitor when using your profile: Word of Warships map

Here map on my 36' Sony CRT TV ;-)

I wish it was bigger ... and I am sure that at one point in the past it was bigger. I used to play kamikaze with minimap across half of the screen :)

it is a clever workaround but some people can't run obs alongside the game

Why ? You are not streaming anything online, and it is use almost no resources. My old 11 years computer Athlon X4 965 handle it without any problem while gaming. Game is using Geforce 970 GTX and second monitor is connected to very old Radeon card, which is almost from museum.
