Too much complaining and mimimimi here. You are forgetting the fact that this type of rank mode is for fun only. Nothing competitive here. It is the opposite of regular ranked seasons. Free flags&coal. If you think it is not fun, don’t play it. I just don’t get the whining...

The only issue is that for the time being this doesn't seem to work for the PR grind missions.

To clarify:

We're changing Directives conditions - you'll now be able to complete economic missions of the Directives 4-6 in Ranked sprint. (You've already been able to do it for directives 1-3).

Directive 7 is unchanged due to there being no Ranked battles when it'll be active.

..., and to test the individual skill is the goal.   Ok, in my opinion ... I would prefer to watch these battles instead of playing them. 

Some battles would look like grotesques with Charlie Chaplin.  Format 1 vs 1 is a nice joke from WG:

 

• Imagine 2 DDs going around the island - both of them on the opposite side of the island - and trying to cap enemy base ... who will be faster ?
• Imagine big fat Bismark not even able to spot enemy DD, and that DD sending tons of torps on Bismark ...
• Imagine Kaga versus anything like cruiser without AA protection (but having hydro search) ... Kaga's  constant flow of planes ... what a fun
• .. etc.

 

Finally, I would like to be the WG guy selling all these signal flags ... I'm expecting every ship look like circus tent ...

Since all ranks and stars are irrevocable, I'm thinking maybe the best tactic is to stick to ships you know well. Statistically speaking, even I couldn't be losing all the time... I hope...

Tirpitz is actually good in this mode, one of the few moments, where we can say, that Tirpitz is a good ship. 

But what you are saying is not completely correct. You can have Bismarck, which can be build in the same way... And because those maps are much smaller, you don't need range. Secondary guns are good, but not necessarily the most important thing in this mode. What about DD well played? Good strikes with CVs or HE spam with radar ship... 

As was said, it is really dependent on what you are most familiar to play with.

Even though as a first impression, I thought it was going to be a bad ranked sprint, I think it's actually not bad.

I am enjoying it so far. In one battle, I was using the Bismarck and I was playing against a Massachusetts. We both agreed to use only secondaries  

Needless to say, it was fun.

 

This ranked sprint has the potential of being fun in my opinion. And surely no frustration of ending up in a bad team or with AFK players on your team.

I could play this with Kaga and have close to 100% WR probably (even tho I don't play CVs at all) but what's the fun there?

 

I'm choosing lines which I haven't grinded yet and using it to get from T8 to T9.

 

So I just started today with Amalfi, hoarding XP for Brindisi.

 

I haven't had any DDs or CVs yet. Against cruisers, I won most of them (unless they get lucky with torps because I don't have hydro). Against BBs I lost most of them (unless a BB is really bad).

 

So by reaching rank 1 not only will I get coal and some flags but I'll also make more progress (and much quicker!) on certain ships/lines than I normally would.

Its a complete stupidity. I played one game with Cleveland (i have the skill which points me to the nearest ship so no chance for him to outsmart me or ambush ) and got to play vs a Benson. I dont think i even have to say the poor guy didnt even got the chance to fire at me, except some torpedoes that went far away. Im quite sure that most matches will be paper vs scissors. And the rewards really dont worth the time.Unless youre tryin to do directives for PR. The xp for wins is really good.

Hello!

A short statement….never saw a game with so many cheats. How come a dd doesn´t torp? or takes 20 secs to reload? and a charles martell reaches 45 knots? About the rewards someone was complaining, well thats the WG idea of their gifts to their costumers. We get what we deserve, a crappy game from a crappy "company" with crappy clientes, myself included.Cant wish a Happy New Year, it wont be if we keep playing this game...
