CV wont bother even trying to cap. Game ends when the one enemy ship dies. So you just kill that ship.

Are you guys serious? I played the mode on the test server, was using DDs and I met lots of CVs as enemies. Every game was devastating for the carriers, lost only once because I was too arrogant this battle.

You only need a fast DD, so you can reach the CV fast and then - GG. Most of the time they are trying to run to the edge/corner of the map, but that didnt help much :)

CVs and Bismarck/Tirpitz/Massachussets are going to rule in this ranked. On the test Server I played only with the Bismarck, and won most battles, even against CVs. But I know, test server is completely different from the live server.

Needless to say, I was easily melting enemy DDs.

 

I once ended up (in the test server, and on a 1v1 ranked battle) in a battle against a Graf Zeppelin, while I was on my Bismarck. The CV didn't run away, I approached him, we fought with secondaries. But a BB against a CV seemed to be unfair to both of us, so we then both agreed to just ram each other, ending the battle in a draw.

 

I think this ranked sprint is going to heavily rely on the skills of each player playing in a battle. There is no teamwork, so the less skilled player is going to easily loose to a more skilled player. So it's basically a matter of RNG. You end up against a new player? Easy win. You end up against a very skilled player? You loose.

 

But 40 stars? Isn't that too much? Not sure if all that effort is going to be worth it for the 10 000 coal.

But I'm looking forward to atleast trying some battles.

So you start in a BB, and find some random unicom in a CV, how far do you think you are going to get? before you are anywhere near a cap half your health is gone, and the CV only has to camp on the redline, this sound very very odd.

 

PS which CV's have the best AA protection?

I will point out that the people who play a class on the test server aren't always the same as the people who play that class on the live server.

 

CV are frequently tried out on the test server by people who want to see what they're like.

Presumably your plan would be to yolo the CV - Personally I don't think I'd have an issue killing off a single DD that's going as quickly as possible towards me - A dd can be taken out in usually 4-5 good rocket strikes. Something like the enterprise can launch 4 strikes from the first wave. Similarly with good aim/a little RNG, the lexington/saipan can do huge damage with HE bombs

What's the difference between having more irrevocable ranks with more stars needed and less irrevocable ones with less stars?

 

The only difference is that you need to play more and grind more for the same crappy rewards.

 

So it's presented in a way that for naive people looks better "Hey, look, all ranks are irrevocable, thanks WG!"

 

In reality, last 'Ranked Spring' required 22 stars in total, this one requires 40 stars in total so basically double.

 

Too bad people are generally too stupid to see the obvious.

You get steel for 'standard' Ranked like we just had (almost exclusively T10 ships).

 

For Ranked Sprint (as this one) you never get steel but some coal instead. Many players don't even bother with Ranked sprint and now that you need 40 stars to get that coal... I believe even less people with waste time on it, especially with many of them grinding for the PR or whatever are the other rewards in this update which I consider the worst one released yet.

So i pick a battleship like masss then i can dealing with cv ca and bb ,the que make a Kageo for u . gg wg.

the dd only can handle with bbs so i guess there will be no dd in this crap "season".

and infact T VIII is real P2W.

 

If u reaaly wanna test the player's skill make the same type of ship , ca to ca bb to bb .

Yeah go for it , reach the GZ and get massacred on 9.4km of his secondaries. Many people will go now on GZ with BFT and manual secondaries , IFHE with AR. Good luck with 2.9 sec reload secondaries with crazy accuracy (even without manual secondaries skill are accurate) on a DD. Even a cruiser won't survive

I don't know really, I read somewhere that you get it from ranked so I assumed that applies to this too. I hoped I'd get a chance to earn some, there are interesting ships in the steel section of the armory :D I'd be happy with the coal too though.

This is 10th season mate and those ranked sprint are pretty new (a year ago they began to launch them) and you always got 10k coal for reaching rank 1. Other ranks only flags. Or was 7v7 format with divisions but now.... Now because many people won't play (holiday season) they made this 1v1 so you won't wait a lot at all.

Kind reminder : you don't need to cap if you sink the enemy ship. Therefore 1v1 CV is capable enough of winning by killing everything by itself without being at risk herself. (Ok maybe not Vladivostoks with Kusnetzovs on it. Because Ru-easons.) With those ultra fast planes, they can cover the whole map in seconds and even spot DDs trying to run after cap. Smoke you say? Maybe, depending on how fast the cap points tick.

 

We'll have enough battles to try it out anyway, as it will be 40 stars x winrates, a ridiculous amount of grind again. Looks like they really want server active players numbers up.... 

 

GL all anyway, at least every non-CV game will be something new and fun
